Imagine if the called Lebron like Brunson? The one foul call on Hayes was ridiculous: Brunson basically threw himself into Hayes jaw and he got the call. What is Jax supposed to do bend over so he can get f***ed more easily?

I also want to add I thought JJ coached an excellent game. Our guys were being out played and out hustled with effort.

Even Vando’s hustle plays weren’t coming off and going out of bounds or resulting in fouls. He kept the team balanced and locked in. At one point we were down 13 in the third and he took a time out and told the guys their shots would fall jsut to continue competing on the defensive end and communicating.

He kept everyone engaged enough and it lead to our comeback.

I think Knicks are bigger and more physical with their size. Thibs always has one of the most physical teams in the league. I also think they have better offense, even if they're still trying to figure the Kat fit. But this is a game you can watch tape on and somewhat gameplan for a team like OKC.

Oh yeah... forgot to mention in my other post. Good job ending the Knicks perfect 5-0 OT record!

It’s not as simple as just having the personnel. You’ve got to also hold great offensive players like Luka, LeBron and Reaves below their averages - so basically shooting like 40%.

You’ve got to do that for 4 games and hope that no role player steps up. And you have to hope defensively we’re off. It’s just highly unlikely we’re terrible offensively and defensively for 4 games. I think whoever beats us has to play their best game and not hope we play our worst to win a series.

As an example, if Reaves shoots 40% today (bad for him), we win in the regulation time and probably by 10.

Very proud of every player and coach. These kind of wins really build championship pedigree.

It did feel like a playoff game. Thrilling! We couldn't hit shots - esp AR, who looked like he missed 20 games instead of 2 - but we still won it. Knicks were up 90-80 with just under 7 mins left. We came back and took a lead, largely on 3 Gabe 3s. Luka comes out in OT and makes the first 5 points. He's that guy.

Lakers beat Knicks in OT, 113-109. 8th straight win.

Thibs looks like a miserable emm effer: omnipresent sourpuss face, near-hunchback, scowling whiny jagoff. I'm sure his mother loves him.

    Brunson's injury looked garish.

I agree with JSM: refs were pretty bad this game.

Missing Brunson for 7-10 games might be good for the Knicks, who have to figure out a way to get other guys going. I mean: Bridges and KAT are there to score.

Not sure why KAT has been so bad against us: tonight: 42 mins: 12/14 on 3 for 13 shooting. The game we beat them in NY: 35 mins: 11/6 on 3 for 12.

Could be our D smothers him.

Gabe was our hero this game. But it's easy to take for granted those other 2 guys, who got us 32 and 31 and were clutch late.

Ho-hum: just another Laker victory! Wasn't pretty. There will be those, too. As long as we win.

Do we have any other big games comin' up?

“Defense was trash on Brunson (was Godwin not available?)”

Well gawddamn Brunson IS one of those elite offensive guards that are next to impossible to contain especially when they’re hot. I seriously doubt a healthy Goodwin is that level of defender either.

The refs were horrible in this game. The amount of times Lebron and Luka get fouled attacking the basket with no whistle is criminal. New York were mugging them all night.

luka took okc behind the woodshed in the playoffs last year.

i don't understand it, but KAT has struggled against smaller teams in unexpected ways. i think he prefers not to live in the paint on offense, and he's not very quick, so you can fluster him with swarming defense.

Need different looks. Godwin is the only in between wing and PG defender the Lakers have. In other words he's not a Brunson stopper or anything but gets the defense into a better spot
