Season high in points for Jaxson! 19 and 10 tonight. In only 24 mins. Seems like he made all his FTs too.

    He’s only 24 years old…

Recipient of a lot of nice lobs from Luka. Great game Jaxson!!!!

he's smiled ALOT since the luka trade, and it's because he knows that not only did it save him from europe or something, but it made him some money. looking like we'll end up being glad we have his early bird rights.

He's a 1.5 string center. Rarely does he do something stupid, he's been rebounding or boxing out lately and he is rim running/cutting for lobs with the best of them.

    Nothing not to like. Moar.

With Davis no longer in the fold...our ball movement is better which suits Hayes' strengths. The rock doesn't get stuck in his hands. Whatever he gets us in points is gravy.

Yeah, Luka definitely is getting him paid and will steer another big or two here this summer who want to get in on the fun.

What I've been impressed with Jax and JJ for seeing this and putting him in the position: Jax's ability to guard on the perimeter. He's switching out to wings and perimeter bigs, with Bron and Rui acting more as the big at the rim. That's worked much better than it should.

Clutch FTs tonight going 2/2 Jaxson! Please stop with the dumb passes though… please protect and secure the ball better.

If Hayes can develop a semblance of a post move, it would help. One instance he could have just laid the ball back in but chose to pass it to the corner that was intercepted.

May need to put this guy in bubble wrap the rest of the season. He's basically irreplaceable in terms of being a true lob threat and a guy who can at least match up with centers in traditional coverage

Outside of LeDoncic the Lakers can find replacement roles elsewhere for even a guy like AR.

Jax is coming along nicely and just what we need. Often it is just a matter of playing time and confidence. He is going to be with us for a long time. We have shown we are good enough to win games missing key components for a game or two here and there but there is no replacing AR. We need HIM. The disrespect for his game is still astounding to me.

Going to be rough if we're without Jax and Rui.

Big minutes for Trey, Koloko will need to come up, and we'll have to trot Len out there. *gulp*

I mean the response to this is odd as what I posted isnt really controversial or even a knock on AR? AR is great but the Lakers have Luke and LeBron who do exactly what he does.

He's clearly the Lakers third best player but Hayes literally is the Lakers only big who is a lob threat. This is a roster construction issue.

Well, I am an odd guy.

You may not have intended it as a knock on AR, but it kind of is.How many players in the league are putting up 20 / 5 /5 vicinity numbers consistently as the third best player on the team while on the best contract value in the league. He also is exactly on Luka's timeline for the future. He is tough, does not shrink in the big moments and is willing to let Luka and Bron shine and fill in the gaps. You can't find that combination of team benefits out there.
