There is no way he should be getting so few minutes on this post-Luka team if he's not in foul trouble
He's the only guy who brings that vertical threat on offense and he just opens up everything up for both Luka and Lebron.
How the hell does he only play 18 minutes? That's less then half the game

    JJ wants him to rebound?

He wasn't doing much to be honest. He got outrebounded a few times. I don't think he plays more than 22-24 minutes max. I think our go-to lineup is with DFS/Rui at the 5

Disagree on this: he caused all sorts of havoc with his verticality. Really felt the offense was flowing when he was in there.

I'm not sure you can play small ball with a Fat Luka - Lebron played really good defense in this one and the Lakers still got smoked when Charlotte went Luka hunting.

Jaxson’s clearly improved this year. I’d like to keep him around on a team friendly deal unless someone else pops up as our 2nd string center this summer who’s better …. all assuming we get an actual improvement over him as a starter. He had a nice pass from top of key for a bucket down low and put in that nice looking floater too … to go with an all around good game.

likeable, easy to root for, athletic rim runner, but also clearly limited. I think our coaching and floor leaders can help us take advantage of what he's good at while also hiding his flaws. Very useful player, but not a starting quality center IMHO.

Time to give Hayes his flowers. Held his ground tonight which has failed to do in the past against bruisers and he has consistently looked like a guy who deserves minutes on a contender all year

Hayes is THE Energizer Bunny. Constant motion on both sides of the floor. His movement helps the spacing.

Play him more JJ. Hayes is playing really well IMO but he's not getting even starter minutes. His plus minus is all good so eye test matches the stats

(Or JJ is like I only have one real NBA quality center so I'm keeping him on ice till the playoffs lol)

I believe it was early in the 4th where Jaxon got 2 very massive rebounds where he clearly got up to get them (defensive rebs). Those 2 plays and his lob finishes were awesome to see.

JJ why don’t you ever play this guy? Makes no sense. He’s not the strongest sure, but he’s mobile, finishes at the rim, high flyer. Not quite a defensive stopper like Dwight, but he does enough positive things out there that would make anyone think he deserves 30+ mins a game…

if JJ wants a center playing, it should either be Jaxon or Trey Jemison III playing the 5 at all times if we don’t run those small ball lineups.

I'm impressed with the early results of Jax starting. I thought the D would suffer more than it is. He will never be AD on defense, but his youth, quickness, and pogo legs really contribute to this new scrambling D that JJ has implemented.

Injury added to insult department ..... Jaxson skies to stuff Naz Reid's (?) shot at the rim and grabs control of the ball but is in the air headed out of bounds so he fires a bullet point blank into Reid's beak who was now out of bounds.

He is getting better. Just needs playing time, that's all.
