Was it just me or did anyone else catch a closer up look at the give away jerseys and think they looked like our early 2000 3 peat neck and shoulders cut? I could be completely wrong on this but one zoom in near the bench on a fan .... at the base of the front dip I thought I saw that little black horizontal thingy.

Oh WOW HJ you were there and down close no less!!! OK I'm full of crap on the giveaways as I didn't know they were T-shirts. But possibly, because there was footage outside the Crypt in the streets close by of Lakers 77 jerseys being hawked. Maybe what I saw was an old 3 peat style jersey someone had inventory on and repurposed with his 77 number to sell. It had that type shoulders too.

 

lakers fans are going to love this guy for many reasons.

his early work to ingratiate himself to the local community might be partly for PR, but...you don't have to do this stuff. he knows who pays the bills.

i would be very surprised if his calf isn't still bothering him

weight and conditioning are very much an issue and there's no denying it. he looked completely gassed out there at some points. wish they'd just sit him out until he gets his a** into shape

I’m more of a foxhole guy

 

1) Luka still needs to get back in shape. I don't know how common it is but I can't remember the last time a player ran to his bench to get some water during a FT break. Hopefully he uses the time off from ASB to get his conditioning back in order. As good as he is, he's nowhere near elite level shape.

2) I know he has a history of complaining to the refs but man, you can't just quit on a live play to run to the refs and complain. There was a play where the Lakers got an offensive rebound off of Luka's miss and Luka ran straight to the ref not caring about the play anymore. LeBron looked at Luka and was like WTF?
