I have no doubt that part of LeBron resents the fact that Rob was hesitant to trade picks to improve the roster before the Luka trade (although I'm not sure that's even true, the Hornets called us about Williams) but was quick to do so once Luka was in the fold. But I think the basketball genius part of LeBron understands how Luka changes every calculation and how special playing with him for his last 2-3 seasons could be. He's been asking for a teammate to take the mantle for years (AD, and even Kyrie in Cleveland) and he finally got it.

yeah, i saw that bit from his article and was like...who said that?

also...the value of our picks changed when we got luka. before that, lebron and AD were both certainly going to be gone by 2029, possibly even by that 2027 pick we'd already sent out mopping up their russ mess. iow, had we not made the luka move, we don't make the mark williams move. and we still got cold feet on it, anyway.

lebron knows that he got a guy that can really make the game easier on him in ways that AD couldn't.
