I like this prospect, even if we add two bigs, I'd still keep him around. An abundance of size beats an overkill on guards IMO.
Yeah I’d like to keep this guy and see what he can become. He’s changing a lot of shots out there, blocking some, he plays hard. If he’s your 3rd string center that’s pretty solid, if he can eventually become better than that, great, let’s not toss him away before finding out though. Bob Todd gets some positive credit for this one.
Had a nice game in the limited minutes again against Portland including 4 or 5 offensive rebounds, looking coordinated out defending on the perimeter and a couple of NICE throw down dunks. Come on back up to page 1.
I was super unimpressed with him earlier this season, but lately he’s really improved. I’m with Weezy- keep him around and develop him.
Our second best center. And that's a PROBLEM. I do want to keep him around though. Like what I've seen as he's reacclimated to the speed of a NBA game and knocked some of that rust off. I'd like to develop him and give him a proper 3rd string roster spot for next season after we clear away the current corpses backing up AD.
i feel like hayes has been fine as a backup. our problem is hayes and koloko are the same kind of player, and we need a different kind sometimes. edit: i see you expanded on this in the hayes thread. i'm happy if we get another third stringer of a different style and platoon the position (e.g., sharpe, richards, etc.), but i'd prefer we get someone we'd be comfortable playing 30mpg on many nights (kessler, then vuc or valanciunas). hayes and koloko are 15-20mpg guys, max, and you only need one of them at a time.
I keep seeing people suggest Dwight, JaVale, Bamba, names like that. I’m not sure at this point that Koloko isn’t better right now than those players, or I guess in the case of Bamba better at the things this team needs. I doubt we give him a full spot, but yeah, depending on what hits the market there might not be better than him out there.
Well, there’s definitely an opportunity for him now. He really only has to be “okay” or average out there at this point given our options.
He seems to have more basketball IQ than Hayes so hope he gets a.look. at this point it's desperation time anyway
On Irwin's pod last night he said the current plan is to convert him to a roster spot after we burn through your 2 way eligibility (that will also lower the prorated $ of that contract and yes, we will have to dump someone to do this).
