I’ll predict we get Goga Bitadze for Klebber and the remaining picks

Yeah the Lakers re-created a weaker 17-19 GSW roster which is going to be enough to win it all this season .

    Just shop Kleber's contract .

I think JJ really likes this no center lineups. It looks like his brand of coaching, so I don't think we are getting a very good center, at least not until the summer.
We have no 2nds left right? Not sure how will we be able to even do a smaller deal

I think so too. We now have 5 legit NBA rotation wings: LeBron, Luka, Rui, Vando and DFS. I know Luka really plays PG, but he’s wing sized. Dalton is also wing sized. I think JJ wants to switch a lot, be aggressive in the passing lanes and gang rebound. Swarm big men that are actual threats in the post and rotate.

yeah, i'm really wondering if we're just going to start hayes and play him 20mpg, with the other 28 minutes playing very small at center (and big everywhere else).

That's what is most likely to happen, yes. This all looks like

    Luka/Austin/Dorian/Bron/Rui

more and more. Which could work surprisingly well in the regular season with the current switching strategy on defense. That's a BIG lineup when you think about it. And physically imposing too.

You still have people like Gabe/Vando/Knecht/Jax, even Shake available. I mean, it's not bad and it might be exactly what JJ wants. We'll see.

Eventually Giannis will want to play with Luka and everything is going to be OK. We'll play him exclusively at the 5. :)

It’s basically the Harden Rockets formula. Have a bunch of linebacker sized guys that can switch. Force other teams into a slower, iso-heavy pace of play. And then beat them at that style because you have better halfcourt creators.

Nabbing Sharpe for a 2nd in the DFS deal would have been nice, but I still think they were setting their sights higher on a guy to pair with AD. Sharpe is probably worth a couple 2nds, but not sure how many teams want to trade for his RFA status.

Maybe Wood’s expiring and our remaining 2nd gets it done? Won’t be mad if they don’t make a big move, but would still like to add a little beef up front.

I think you’re right this is the lineup we’re going to roll with the rest of the season.

It looks good when giving 100% effort like the last couple of games. Very heartening to see Rui push Shoebox out of the post like he did last night. I know we can’t give this kind of effort every game, but I am wondering if Luka ends up willing us to wins on the nights we don’t have the defensive intensity on pure offensive talent alone.

Remember all those games where we’re struggling to score for long stretches? I think that’s a thing of the past once Luka is out there. If we can give this kind of defensive intensity and swarm rebound as our new identity, I think we can compete with anyone even without getting a new center.

That's exactly right. I'll even go as far to say that this - like it or not - could be the best implementation of MDA's "ball finds energy" philosophy so far. It would actually make perfect sense with his team. You have three elite creators now who can all do everything. Just swing the ball, and someone will either drain the 3 or cut to the basket. You can't really stop that in any way that is reliable or efficient. It it a recipe for success? It almost was with the Rockets, and they came this close [ ] to beating the Warriors, so... it's worth trying this season for sure.

Bron says that his main job is to make the transition for Luka as smooth as possible, so let's just focus on that leadership and go from there. It's gonna be exciting to watch, because I actually enjoyed watching the last few games without AD and without Luka. Something good is going on here right now for sure. Can't say exactly what it is, but the switching on defense looks miles better all of a sudden.

Speak it into existence! He’d be a perfect fit. Underrated passer out the post as well. Maybe Orlando will be willing to part with one of their 8 centers they have on their roster.

Boston's going for a buyout target it seems. Maybe Craig? He would be nice here as a Vando insurance

Super weird trade by Washington. Middleton has the same time left in his contract as Kuzma, it's 10M more and they get only a swap? It's in 2028 and maybe Giannis is not in Milwaukee anymore and they may get a nice pick, but it seems like a bad deal.
They're not trading Middleton anymore and Kuz is in a great contract, they surely could have gotten a promising player plus a pick.
