If Upshaw gets it together physically, mentally and cleans his off court issues...he could be what ex-Pacer power forward Dale Davis was as a player.

On one hand I think he already has a conditional deal. On the other we have JC, DR, and Lou.

I wonder if Pincus thinks things through before he posts. I think Upshaw controls his destiny. If Upshaw lives up to his potential and shows his stuff the Lakers will keep him. Defensive centers like him don't come around very often. Backup PGs are a dime a dozen. I would unload Sacre, Kelly and any poo poo player to keep Upshaw if he pans out.

We know exactly what Sacre is: a nice guy who's close to 7' and plays basketball. He's an okay backup. Why wouldn't we give Upshaw every opportunity to win that spot?

I'm pretty sure he has a legit shot, they wouldn't of taken the "risk" if they weren't interested.

Since we're talking about the end of the bench anyway, I'd dump Sacre and Kelly in a heartbeat for a backup point guard (Buycks?) and Upshaw. We have enough front court players in the event that Upshaw doesn't pan out, but I'd rather take that chance with his upside.

    Thanks for posting Rock.

That second team put up too good of a fight for my liking. :D

Nance is definitely going to be the player that everyone hates going against. Put back dunks, odd layups that go in, 50/50 balls are his.

Clarkson is the clear cut best player on that court.

Randle not even attempting to get back on D (1:30).

Big man sighting. 2:35 - running the floor.
Upshaw is very willing to set picks. Could get more body when he does.

Randle looks unstoppable going to the rim.

    Nance coast-to-coast 5:15 or so.

    5:43 - big dunk. NOICE.

Randle actually looked even better to me, or at least on par. JC clearly works harder though - no time off for him. Love seeing that.

In that video, Clarkson was doing it on both ends. Blocked a shot, altered another one. Randle got two put back dunks on him. Randle was definitely number 2 for me and looks in great condition (The ease of which he did that straight vert two hand dunk tells me he's ready), but I thought JC was the better player in that clip.

I'd be happy as hell if Randle is the better player because JC is a beast in himself.

Good point. I'm glad we're running a 4-man offense with him on the court. He should save himself for defensive exertions. Thanks for the correction.

Larry Nance Jr. surprised me in that scrimmage video. Looks like he'll be having a lot of offensive rebounds and scoring off of that. Jordan Clarkson looks like he's been working hard and improved but I've always had a problem with his ball-hogging stat stuffing mentality as the point guard. If he can tune that down combined with the fact that he's now moved to the shooting guard position, maybe, just maybe, I'll hate him a little bit less. Randle, as reported, has been looking like a beast.

Wide open layup for Mitchell who had no one between him and the basket if Randle ran back from the being under the other rim on a fastbreak 3 point attempt.
