Time will tell here. I too would’ve like to see one more real run with AD.

Ultimately, the front office just didn’t believe that we could contend even if they added a big man. Because there were big guys we could have added. They clearly didn’t believe that whoever they could add would be enough and decided to go ahead and reboot the team.

Been a minute since I’ve logged on here much less posted here. A lot of life happened but with that said, holy hell what a trade! Almost woke my girl up with my reaction lol.
I for one am a fan of this trade. Yes it sucks losing AD and Max. But like it’s been said you have to give up a lot to get a lot. I like it because one, Luka truly is a generational talent and he’s only 25! Who’s to say he can’t get better? Two, the marketability is there around the league and overseas. Him in a laker uniform is gonna draw ALOT of eyes. And three, again he’s only 25 years old which means we may not have to go through a painful rebuilding period again soon. Anyway I agree that I don’t think Lakers are done making moves as our front court is paper thin as it is and even more so with AD gone.
Been a fan of Luka since he came into the league; I just like his style of play. He definitely needs to get in shape and focus more on defense but we’ll have to see how things shake out.

I'm not as mad as you, but I tend to lean this way as well. Lakers have been looking solid lately with Vando & FS solidifying our wing defense.. I honestly felt we were one piece from being a legit contender this year..

Players like Luka come up every few generations. Chance to get one is even rarer. You HAVE to do that if the opportunity presents itself. Don't get cute, don't overthink stuff, just get it done. If we missed that chance, damn. It would be up there with Vlade's decision or Portland drafting Bowie because of Clyde :D

You know how I feel about Bron ball. If this takes the ball out of his hands, he could have a very interesting end to his career. And we'd be infinitely more watchable.

That being said, the time difference thing is real. Sleep patterns are real, and I have to truly care to be awake to watch. Working on changing my work schedule to accommodate more, but in spite of recent success, I just haven't felt too connected. Maybe this changes. To me, I won't really ever think of Lebron as a Laker. Weird right?

I can make 100 arguments in favor of this trade & 100 against it.
Nothing against Luka. Stoked to have him on the Lakers. Gonna be a lot of fallout from this one though.

Except it was like 70% of the time unleashed, still improving, awesome HIM AR running the offense ball with LeBron as the change up or when necessary.

Completely get the time difference though.

With the right trade we could have been the 5th or so most likely team to win it all this year. With Luka and a decent supporting cast our floor could be the 5th or so most likely team to ring every year for the next 5-7 years. And Luka is way, way more of a draw for other good players than an early-to-mid 30s AD. Even with the conditioning stuff, he's a better player than AD.

Its an overwhelming win for us. It's as much of a coup for us as every other fanbase thinks it is. There's a reason why they're all melting down right now.

I always wanted to make more fat gifs

If we can't have fun with this as fans, what are we even doing. Let's get a solid center and see what magic we can conjure up.

This is a staggering good trade. LeBron is playing fantastic; Luka is as good as anyone, and we all know LeBron raises his game for the playoffs. AR can fit in any which away and we have hustling defenders and guys that can hit threes in bunches. Even as is, we are scary good, but we pick up that one rim protector/rebounder and the fat lady is going to start warming up her voice.

I can easily argue both sides on this one..
Will be curious to see what LeBron says because this was obviously a move for the future & not this season.. & apparently not a word was said to LeBron about the trade.
Hey LeBron, we just traded away the season for your replacement after you retire..

I've yet to hear a good argument against this trade. I don't care if it makes us worse for this season, even with a trade we were never going to be more than a fringe contender anyway. Also, if we can make a trade for a rim protecting/lob threat center (which we were trying to do anyway), we may end up being better this season too because Luka is a Top 5 player at minimum even with the conditioning stuff.

LeBron isn't stupid, he knows Luka is a better player than AD and a much bigger draw for other players to come here. Even if he says screw it I need to seriously contend this year (which he probably wasn't going to be able to do anyway before the trade), okay that's fine. We now have a like a 7 year window with one of the best players in the league. I take that 10 times out of 10 even if it means LeBron gets traded today. All we're losing is the chance to compete this season, which again was a long shot even with a trade.

    There's some funny rumors
Luka Dončić weighs 175 kg and in «Dallas brings a hookah to the video, and because of the smoke no one sees the screen only talks to Kyrie in Slovenian,he drank all the beer from the refrigerator of the new Dallas owner Miriam Adelson and this woman simply confused him with Luke Modrich ( it's a Real Madrid soccer player)

How many times for people saying the Lakers just proved they don’t care about this season now with having gotten Luka for AD, Max and one pick …. do you just have to ignore “common sense” and “waiting” until all the smoke has cleared by the deadline before you put your FO mind reading out there? Why would you do that when more moves are almost certain to come?
