I'm not missing Rui at all. I guess his three point shooting a little since Lebron shot like one for 8 from downtown. But that's about it. DFS and Vando pretty much have it covered out there.
wondering if we'll get a look at rui coming off the bench before the trade deadline hits. i'd like to see how he handles it and how we look that way with DFS starting and vando back.
yeah im thinking we gotta see Rui off the bench...with Gabe/Rui back, loooking at yday's game...they likely take Milton and Knecht's minutes and the starters all won't play 35+ minutes.
He’ll continue to start because DFS is still on a minutes restriction. Makes total sense, because DFS couldn’t start and finish games on the same amount of minutes, just not possible..
They're trying to tip toe the line until they figure out if they're trading Rui or not. If they keep him, he'll be downgraded to the bench after the deadline and it doesn't matter if he pouts or it harms his trade value a little.
i tuned into the game a couple times and both times saw eric gordon get into the paint. i seriously said, "f*** all this, i'm reading a book tonight"
Rui should be highly motivated tonight, he's about due for a 30 plus game. This would be a great time, for that to occur.
Big time against his former team Good to see him get the shots up. Needed that boost early before we ran completely away with this one.
While Rui is obviously the odd man out on the roster with the addition of DFS, the return of Vando, not to mention the additions of Luka, Morris and Klieber, it does seem like at this point he's not really a hot commodity on the trade wire for other teams. Next season he'll be an expiring so maybe his trade value improves this summer and we look for a better fit in a big or a shooter. We shall see.
i think going all-in on offense for the rest of the year is a viable strategy. makes vando kinda useless for now, but we could beat a lot of teams playing rui at smallball center (with hayes as the starter/placeholder). not winning in the playoffs this way, though.
We may be playing a roster with 4 guys in the 6' 7" to 6' 9" range and not rely on a center. Might just get away with it until we see quality bigs in the playoffs. Imagine trying that against Wemby or Jokic? I'm thinking it's a bad idea.
