I don't care how you get rid of him, but I'd be shopping his contract this season and summer. If he isn't available, bye bye. Taking up a roster spot.
Yeah, he costs at least a first and that just doesn't make any sense for us. Only opportunity is some team blowing it up, like the Pels might. Blowing it up means at least 2-3 years tanking, so Vando can be a good asset in that scenario. But even if I'm a GM of such team, I'm still fleecing the Lakers. We just gotta accept he's not going anywhere and probably will get waive and stretched at some point. As you said, huge mistake by the medical team when they cleared him for a multi year contract
I'll believe when I see it. Still not counting with him. It would be a win if we can get him healthy enough to erase the negative trade value and be able to trade him for Brown or whatever
So confusing and hard to track: he went out with torn foot ligament, didn't have surgyer, had surgery maybe in the other foot??, then has been out with a knee. That's not very re-assuring of how well he's going to bounce back from what looks like multiple leg issues. Still getting him back could help the rebounding/athleticism issues the Lakers have against the young gun type of teams in the NBA
The " Heart and Soul of this team". That's what Hayes said about Vando. He's on the way back baby!!!. Folks were about to call Turner done a couple of seasons ago. Said AD might be finished before 35.
You guys forgot to add after the announcement of “on court activities:” He’ ONLY two weeeeeeks away!!! I’m so excited.
The only reason to do this is to give him actual court time, so maybe he really is 2 weeks away for real this time?
I want to see a Vando, Christie, DFS, AD lineup absolutely shut the other team down. Throw in Bron or Reaves for some semblance of an offense, and go on 10-0 runs from denying the opponent any buckets at all.
Do we get the Vando that got played out of the playoffs because he was ignored on offense or the guy who destroyed the C Bags and looked like Scottie Pippen in the game he got hurt?
lol, we go months without vando news, and now we get minute-by-minute updates. jarred vanderbilt has exited the steam room and appears to be headed to taco bar...
Interesting timing too. I think we are trying to make him available enough so that we can trade him. I like that
For how bad our defense has been this season, I would actually love to watch Vando, along with four Vando clones for three games straight.
