What if Beak asks for a buyout lol. Is that even possible?

Picks convey in 4 & 6 years. AD will be 35-37. Along with a better Reaves, Christie, Knecht, and Kessler, that is not a tanking team. Could be a very good team depending on those 4's improvements plus some other players from Bron's cap space.

He is the missing piece defensively. Would be a top defensive team with Christie, DFS, AD, and Kessler. OKC is Shai + Jalen Williams + defense, and look how good they are. With Kessler, we would be AD + Bron + AR + defense. It's a winning formula.

kessler averages a double double, right now, at the same age as knecht. ainge would be right to ask for either two first rounders or knecht and a protected first, imo.

he could, but it wouldn't make sense for phx, really, as they couldn't do much with his spot (and that buyout would be crazy expensive with beal's player option tacked on!), and it wouldn't make much sense for him, as he couldn't sign with an apron team due to his salary. even if beal was in last year, it still wouldn't make sense.

watching phx gives me russ flashbacks--except our situation was worse because russ was actively hurting the team when he was starting. i guess beal is statistically doing something kind of similar, but it's nowhere near as bad.

phx's payroll is so wild that even if beal's salary just disappeared, they'd still be well over the cap.

they won't do it, but the best thing would be to move durant right now and see if they can recoup some of those picks on the back end. keep booker and just sort of live with beal until he's expiring. a team desperate for a ring might give you a couple future unprotected firsts, which will happen after durant is retired and could help you rebuild. you could also move booker for a younger prospect and some picks, too, if you were really bold, but i'd be worried about that. he's a legit second-tier star under contract for years and still under 30; you generally keep those in your pocket.

again, i'm sure they'll just make marginal moves with nurkic and allen, etc., but that's not going to get them there. don't see tyus jones re-upping with them at the minimum after this year, and i'm not sure others will be as eager to make that leap after they see jones probably lose some money having done so this year.

and Shaq is petty and insecure with a strange fascination with Dwight ever since he dunked as Superman. It's weird. Growing older doesn't always mean growing up.

Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd said after Monday's 119-104 loss to the Grizzlies that Gafford is "probably going to be out for some time" after exiting with 8:26 remaining in the second quarter due to a sprained left ankle, Grant Afseth of DallasHoopsJournal.com reports.
So 3 of their starters are out.

KD gets a lot of s*** for being insecure (which he is), but Shaq is just as bad or worse. For almost 15 years now he has fired back at Barkley with something about him not having any rings any time Barkley jokes about him at all.

Shaq needs to get off it. Barkley in his prime had one great team and yes they should have beat the Bulls but until he joined with a geriatric Houston squad he never played with another truly great first ballot HOF caliber player. Phoenix everyone forgets also lost Cedric Ceballos who was having a breakout in those playoffs before he got hurt before the Finals

Only a few guys have won a title without a truly great second banana (Dirk and Hakeem 1st title qualifies for sure, maybe Isiaih and the Bad Boys. both Jokic and Lebron won with two weird mercurial PG's whose production varies but at their best Murray and Kyrie were unstoppable at time so not sure if they count or not). Pippen without Jordan (never hear this in the GOAT arguments for some reason) won 55 games and was one of the worst foul calls in NBA history from reaching the ECF.

Anyways long way to say if Barkley played with the equivalent of Kobe or Wade (Drexler I guess for his era and Drexler was clearly not as good as either IMO) he probably would have one or more titles. Kevin Johnson was good and all but he's pretty similar to Irving and Murray in a lot of ways and only Lebron/Jokic have won titles with that kind of mercurial PG.

Im the conductor of the Kessler hype train, but no way I’m trading Knecht for him. K4 is going to be a 20 ppg killer in 2-3 more years. He and Reaves were born to play off each other. He’s a priority keeper for me.

But, I would consider 2FRPs for Kessler.

He definitely can be our next D-lo, but no money for him is available and still need to get somebody who's 7 feet tall
