He's a rotation level combo guard. If he can fill a Monk or LW4 kind of role that's helpful. Considering that roster spot was being held by Lewis, it's a big difference.
i'm very happy that we got a guard back in this deal that is actually pretty big at 6'5 I think he actually can take over Gabe's role (when we trade him).
D-Lo down, Gabe to go. Maxwell Lewis was a bonus too. Any deal that sends JHS and Gabe somewhere would be the final trade to get the dirty stench off this team from the last two years of bad draft picks and aquistions. Vando would be the ultimate but I know that horrendous contract will never get traded unless the Lakers drop 1st for it which can't happen.
At least he’s an NBA level player where Max Lewis was not (so far), so we gained a little more depth with this trade overall.
Is the shimmy he makes after making a basket called milkshake? does it bring all the boys to the yard? – – Dwight (Probably)
So I was randomly at a Clippers/Sixers game in March of 2020 right before Covid hit. Embiid and Simmons were out, Shake went for 39 points lol.
Wouldn't be opposed to bringing Lonnie back if there is another move that thins the guard position. He's a legit NBA player even if flawed
I think Shake is going to get a real shot to contribute the next month or so. The FO wants to see if they need to make another deal to replace DLo's playmaking/shooting (Sexton), or if a Gabe/Shake combo can get us by.
Looks like the odd man out right now. Clearly not a PG, didn't really look comfortable shooting wide open catch and shoots
