It’s a bummer because I think he put in a ton of work in the 2023 offseason after the WCF run. Fixed the jumper, rehabbed the foot ligament thing and for stretches of last season I thought he looked better physically than he had at any time since the Solomon Hill injury. I think he thought last year’s roster had a real chance with a trade or two and he emptied the chamber.

Not me in that crowd. Blessed as a Lakers fan to have had yet ANOTHER in top of the list club all time great to watch for these multiple years and the one ring and more importantly rescuing the franchise from lotto no playoffs hell.

I actually agree with all of that. I just feel like it's time for him to either hang them up or take a significant pay cut (which he won't).

Besides, as much as I appreciate what he did for this franchise, for some reason I am still finding it really hard to "like" him as a person, don't even know why precisely. He's like No. 50 on my favorite Lakers list, which is kinda weird considering his level of play and the chip he brought us.

I don’t much care about all that when I watch the games. Wasn’t a big fan of Shaq in that regard either.

I used to actively dislike LeBron. Thought The Decision was lame and cringe, dismissed some of his game as just being more athletically blessed than everyone else, and of course there was the Kobe aspect of it. But in like 2018 when he started really leaning into the bully-ball and orchestrating stuff in the halfcourt more with his brain style of play, that's when I started to really enjoy watching him play.

Same for me. I was a hater but once Lebron signed here he grew on me big time. At this point I think he actually takes the crown of best NBA player all time. Greatest basketball player still remains Kareem to me because of his utter dominance in high school and college as well and the creation of the patented sky hook, the deadliest offensive weapon in the game.

I’d put Lebron in my top 15 favorite Lakers all time.

At this point - if LeBron wants out, get him wherever he wants to go, because guess what? We ain't getting s*** for him if he just decides to retire...

And if the Warriors wanna throw us some unprotected picks and some a couple of guys (Wiggins, Moody, Looney?), I'm good with it.

I think if want to blow it up....try to get AD to OKC for their 17,000 picks and Chet as the headlining young player.

Start the rebuild and stock up on picks and go the OKC route basically. I'm fine with that.

liked him pre-decision, absolutely hated that choice and what happened afterward (i think in some ways the league never recovered, tbh). regained respect for him when he went back to cleveland, such that i was thrilled we got him when we did.

my only beef with him here has been the front office meddling/pressure. ironically, him trying to be a gm is what doomed his chance at competing at a high level more consistently these last few years. that and his/AD's injuries.

but just having him make us look like we were desperate at all times certainly has to have hurt trade negotiations, repeatedly. and engineering one of the worst trades in nba history is just the icing on that cake.

never hated lebron. he was one of those guys who was simply too good to hate. watching him carry those cavs teams in the 00s deep into the playoffs on his own was fun to watch

the decision was incredibly dumb and him teaming up with bosh/wade left a bad taste in my mouth, but who could blame him for leaving the cavs after how they failed to surround him with any talent. cavs stint #2 lebron was probably the most fun to watch, especially 2018 lebron. probably my favorite version of him. didn't have the athleticism he had when he was younger but he was still able to carry his teams to the finals

i'll always be grateful for how he saved the lakers from the dark ages and brought a title to LA

Lebron might say f all this drama and announce he is retiring after the season? He might be mulling that over right now, who knows. Or maybe he is mulling over going to Golden State. I hope the guy is alright man.

he's not going to another team. and with how much money he's still owed for next year, i can't see him retiring unless he and the lakers can agree on some kind of buyout

NO. Nope...You like giving Rob cover for stuff, he is the one pulling the trigger on every move that we make. I never see you saying that Lebron, engineered one of the greatest trades in Lakers history...getting AD. I guess that one, was all Rob Pelinka? Any misstep that Rob makes, seems to come with some kind of asterisk with you.

You will be screaming for Rob's head, and demanding that Jeanie immediately sell the team, in 3 years tops.

Well we need to act more like Boston where we see the writing on the wall and get assets for a rebuild before we let AD/Bron fall apart and then we can't get anything for them and then we toil at the bottom for 8+ years like we did post Kobe....

Look at how quickly OKC rebuilt trading Russ and PG13....they saw 2 playoff series and that was enough for them to say you know what...this ain't gonna ever win, let's hit reset and see how we do with that. They're about to be the #1 seed AGAIN and likely gonna make the WCF, or maybe the finals....and they still have 17,000 picks over the next 5 years! They are contenders and they've got trade chips for daysssss to add impact players and they also have one of the cleanest cap sheets in the entire league

Meh..the Seattle supersonics/Okc Thunder have been collecting draft picks, and making better draft decisions than the Lakers for a long time. Maybe Sam Presti is just pretty good at his job, can we hire him?

Conversely..we could have drafted Tatum or Brown ourselves, and we didn't. Speaking on the C Bags. Those guys were challenging James in the East before he left Cleveland. They just ended up choking a lot, like they did in the bubble. The C Bags also have the highest payroll in the NBA. WHILE KEEPING..Tatum and Brown.

Rebuilding isn't as simple or easy as it sounds. Look at Detroit..hell look at US, pre James.

The FBI probably has him tucked somewhere, for questioning about the P Diddy situation

    .
    "Lebronshame"

It's all wild speculation on my part tho, but I have heard, that James has a long history of loaning out his private jet, to celebrities. I'm not implying, that he actually did anything wrong.

He DID say he loves a PDiddy party on video, but I'm sure it was out of innocence. Bron is a family man. He's not doing that kind of stuff.

At least 90% of the LeBron rumors is just based on the fact that he drives headlines. Even more now with the overall decline in NBA viewership.

The league actively working against its premier franchise has caught up with it. The general public doesn’t care about games with smaller market teams and thus we’re stuck with hourly updates while LeBron is just at his mansion listening to new music from Kendrick Lamar.

I still find the wording of everything interesting but my money remains on LeBron retiring a Laker.

You mean you haven’t seen the French Maid pic? I’m not sure if it’s real or not, but humiliation rituals are a part of what these sickos demand.
