Fins looked good last night defensively which doesn't bode well for us.

TRod what do you think of McCarthy or Saleh as replacements if Pierce is let go? Former looks fired and the other is unemployed at the moment.

The Dolphins are really inconsistent. The O will have to keep the ball away from them. If the D tires out, Miami will run all over us.

Saleh has been a loser every season, and his ranks as a coach/coordinator have been unimpressive. He's been okay as a DC, but the numbers are trash as a head coach. I also can't stand him.

McCarthy has been a winner with both organizations he's coached. His offenses have been above average (58th to 71st percentile) and his defenses have been just a hair below average. I'd be far more willing to bring him on for a few seasons than Saleh, and I suppose I have to see how Pierce finishes out the season. He could turn things around with an offense.

    Wha do you think?

Saleh is a DC more than a head coach but his notoriety was with San Fran. We already have Graham calling the shots on that side. Injuries just killed us. I like McCarthy more same as you. The young offensive minds being touted I have doubts we can get. I sure as hell don't want to settle for another Getsy. We don't know who will be our signal caller is under center next season. Given Brady's input and Davis' preference, all signs point to Sanders.

I'd be happy to have Sanders, Ward, Ewers, even Allar or Dart.

Am I crazy to think this will be closer than the 8-point spread?

    Raiders 21

Another 2nd half collapse... Defense is undermanned and shot.

This team is traaash. I look at Denver. Quick turnaround. Got an established coach, grabbed a QB in the middle of the first, and they are fighting for a playoff spot. Damn.

    Let's call this one.

    Broncos 22
    Raiders 16

Denver's defense is good. The Raiders start fast compared to the Broncos, averaging 4.8 PPG (#13 in the NFL) in the first quarter vs. Denver's 2.5 (28th). They'll want to put points on the board on their first drive to make Denver work uphill. The Raiders' run game could be in trouble. They'll likely be rolling with Ameer Abdullah (82 rushing yards on the season, 2 fumbles, 1 lost), Dylan Laube (1 rush, 0 yards, 1 fumble, 1 lost), and Sincere McCormick (0 career rushing yards) at RB.

    Positives?
Most yards passing in the season. Most total offense yards.

    Negatives?
Two times, first and goal inside the five, and a total of 3 points on those drives.

    Chiefs 28
    Raiders 19

Don't forget that AOC was at the helm the last time the Raiders beat the Chiefs. He didn't have a good game, but he's hardly been bad against KC. They've been outscored 45-37 in the two games he has started, and he threw for 248 and a TD vs. them the first time out.

It sucks we lost this game BUT man we see what this team can look like with a real QB and offensive play calling. AOC has flaws but I think he is more than a serviceable QB. We will draft one of the young studs I'm sure but I think we will see a few wins stack up before its all said and done.

Crazy ending. AOC took fault for the mistake. I didn't understand why we spiked it so early if we were going to go for the FG. That was baffling to me especially after AP said that we were going to run the clock down to 4 and throw it out of bounds then try the FG. Fumble aside I wasn't feeling fabulous about trying another FG.

That being said, this was prob our best overall game from all sides of the game (phases as coach said) this year. Sincere Mc finally showed out and may get much more burn this year. Brock is a goddamn stud, period. Some beautiful passes by AOC and some outstanding catches by the boys.

Loss helps our draft status but the win would of been sooooooooooo rewarding.

    Positional Ratings
QB Minshew 72 (driven by playing time)
    QB AOC 51
    QB Ridder 30

I want to point out a few things here. AOC now has a better Passer Rating than Minshew (88.1 vs. 81.0), a better QBR (53.3 vs. 38.2), and he so deserves to play this out to the end this season. In his first 16 games as an NFL player, he has thrown for more than 3000 yards, has a 16:9 TD:INT ratio, and his QBR went from 40.5 in year 1 to 53.5 in year 2.

Here's my biggest complaint with what the organization has done with AOC.
If they start him from week 1, he still misses time with a thumb injury, but he also has 12+ games to see what he has.
If he balls out, great. They can run with him at QB.
If he doesn't, then the organization and AOC know he's not the guy.

But at this point, how can AOC not feel like he deserves as much as anyone on the planet to be taking snaps for this LVR squad?

Here's one more. Since Carr initially became the Raiders' QB (W-L).

    Carr 63-79
    Jimmy G 3-3
    AOC 5-8

    Minshew 2-7
    Matt McGloin 0-1
    EJ Manuel 0-1
    Bryan Hoyer 0-1
    Jarrett Stidham 0-2

    Carr: 44.4%
    AOC: 38.5%
    All others: 25% (5-15)
    Others minus Jimmy G: 2-12 (14%)

    IN: Sincere McCormick
    OUT: DJ Turner (IR)

That non-contact injury for Turner looked bad. He's going to the IR until week 18, and his season could be done. But McCormick is rewarded for his work. Going back and forth between the practice squad and the active list has given him more than 500k in salary this season. Good for the guy.

This could be a stomping, if these first 7 minutes are any indication.
