Hey look! Coaching matters! Lakers have done a great job pairing the HC with a rookie who matches their skillset JJ and DK: elite shooters Ham and JHS: bums who shouldn't be in the league.
This is almost infuriating. If we had a more competent coach earlier, we could've been more competitive in the playoffs. Wasted several good LeBron years with hands in our pockets.
And if they didn't trade for Brick?? Frankly all of this wouldn't have mattered if they just didn't get cheap and kept f***ing Caruso. Ham was a really respected assistant it didn't work out. Clearly Reddick is just a natural at this some stuff - I wonder if being in media kind of helps JJ as he really knows how to use the media in a way that is meaningful but not derogatory to the team. The whole Dlo praise which was really insightful on a historic night for Knecht is some savvy Phil Jackson like zen moves here.
another thing we're finally doing this year is not just parking non-threats in the corner, as one of those tweets mentions. if they're setting screens and moving, the defense has to at least momentarily account for them and react to them. use bad offensive players as screeners. hell, use everyone as screeners, all the time! don't run things that involve parking people; it's so much easier to defend.
Clips beat them last night. What’s up with KCP ^^^ that you say he’s not playing? Did he get hurt last night …. other than scoring 2 points in 30 minutes?
He's listed as out for personal reasons. Caldwell-Pope will miss his first game of the season Thursday due to personal reasons
caught a break because kcp always kills us, but orlando has one thing that i covet: they're a defensive team. the clippers beat them by holding them to 93. i'm not sure we could hold a college team to 93 right now. the skeleton new orleans crew put up 99 on us. anyway, this is a stronger test than we've seen since our last loss, so let's hope we've made progress.
Not surprised, coaches don't like taking away starting spots while a guy is injured. If it's apparent that Dalton works better in the starting lineup once Rui is back I expect JJ to make the switch back, and I expect Rui to take it just fine as JJ seems to have the team's buy in.
Meh..KCP whatever...Just played last night, and No Banchero, no excuse to lose to Orlando period. No excuse to lose to Denver without Jokic or Phoenix without KD either. We have to clean up on these type of games. Let's get it!!
Future Laker Knox Redick He's 8, so there's a good chance we can keep the nepo train going. JJ can coach him Dalton will be ready to give up the Ooter crown by then.
JJ playing DLo for most of the 4th quarter and not bring in Cam till Franz got red hot eating up Knecht was a f***ing head scratcher
Rookie coach, these things are going to happen, he’s been great so far. He also didn’t miss all those free throws really bad final play though
You like to see your coach care about the losses He didn't miss the FTs, we hit those and this is a W. My only real complaint is regarding Cam. He was fanatic tonight. Should have been in over DLO and/or Max. Should've been on FW much earlier. Instead he cooked against Dalton and Max.
