Some bizarre stuff: I don't know how AD can only be 0.1 overall defense considering how bad the other Lakers are on defense but kind of passes the smell test.
AD/Lebron superstars, AR really good player, Knecht kind of exploding on the scene, DLo/Rui decent rotation players, Cam/Hayes decent rotation specialists. everyone else kind of bad

they really need some defenders who can shoot to balance out the AR/Knecht/Rui/Dlo pieces. Can't have just Cam be the only good defender outside of AD. Man need to work with BRK here: looking thru the numbers flipping out Gabe+Dlo+Rui for Cam John, DFS, and Hedgehog makes a lot of sense for the Lakers if the BRK will accept something like two top 5 protected 1sts

And D-Lo has highest +/- 80 for whole season, next is Knecht with + 44

 

I’d forgotten what it was like for us to not dig a huge hole at the beginning of the season.

In 2009-2010 Lakers won 11 in a row.
In 2010-2011 were 3 winning streaks of 6 games or more including 9 games.
In 2020 Lakers won 10 games and 9
and had winning streak 11-1

 

most recent title team won 7 in a row after losing opening night, lost one, won 10 in a row before losing again. then another 7 in a row!

then they lost 4 in a row. followed by another 9 game win streak. there was another 7-game win streak later in the season, a little before the shutdown.

so it hasn't been forever, but it's been such a slog since that year that a 6-game win streak seems impossible.
