And it would be in really poor taste. Cuban would look like a hypocrite. Since the Pacers can sign Monta outright, what would be the motivation for the Pacers? Does Bird hate the Lakers so much to ruin his reputation? He's already taken a hit with how he's treated Hibbert. David West thought it was wrong. Who knows but we shall see in about 3 hours.

In the Lakers deal the Pacers were probably going to take back Sacre/Kelly. Cuban can offer a deal where they get more cap space. Is $2 million in salary worth the reputation hit for IND to go back on their deal? I honestly don't know, but I'm certainly worried about it. Things were going relatively well...Clips were weaker, Lakers landed a center through a solid trade...now everything may get flipped around and the team to really get screwed here might be LAL.

We can give them the same amount of cap space as well. We don't NEED to dump anyone to take on Hibbert anymore.

Why, was it reported the cap is going to 69 million formally?

Yep, that's why it doesn't make sense for the Pacers to do it unless Bird's hatred runs as deep as my hatred of the C bags or he gets a sweeter deal somehow.

I just don't see the Hibbert deal blowing up at this point.

This is truly nuts. To say I will be upset if the Pacers back out of the deal is an understatement.

That cap jump may save this deal. If not, the Clippers would be involved in TWO shady a** deals that screwed us.

Ah I've been out and my timeline is slammed with DJ news, I missed the salary cap stuff. Theoretically Lakers should be able to take Hibbert into pure cap and sign Lou Will, not sure if it would impact Bass or not.

Just saw from David Aldridge that if Jordan goes back to the Tenants, the Mavs will go after Kevin Seraphin.

Honestly, I didn't think Cuban would do that. Cuban is not a hypocrite, and going after Hibbert would have been exactly what happened to him. Cuban, while annoying at times is a stand up guy.

This is a special case, however

"As far as the Lakers," Cuban said, "I think there are going to be a lot of teams that are going to be focusing and saying, 'Look, I've got a ton of cap room, free agents A, B and C, why don't you guys come together and come play for me?' And L.A. has always been considered a destination, so maybe they feel there's a valid strategy. You know me, Fred. Personally, I just hope they suck forever."

Clips will come up short agin the the PO's. Mavs will proceed to tank after losing out in Jordan. Works or me.
