But he showed up at the game with a girl as his date(or friend), so he should at least get points for that!

Went to a wild Halloween party last night in Berkeley and only just now watched the SAC@Lakers game, having been careful not to find out anything beforehand. Confession: I thought we'd lose because of BTB and 'cuz SAC has been our bete noir, based on those games against them last year: we just couldn't keep up with their quickness. I think - too lazy to check - that they swept us 4-0 last season, right? Lakers look good and jump out to a decent lead, SAC comes back and goes up. Predictable. SAC was up 7 with 1:53 left in the 3rd after Sabonis dunked. In 52 secs we cut the deficit to 1 after Hayes dunked. Then Fox hit 2 3s to put them back up 7 at the end of the 3rd. I think this is where I started accepting we were going to get our first loss. Then: led by the impossible: a near-40 year old man wearing #23, the Lakers scored the next 21 points. Holy JIT! The team is basically the same as last year. The Lakers I mean. Okay, Gabe is healthy and getting mins. And Knecht looks like a keeper so far. But I think the major difference between last year and this - I know, I know, 'tis still WAY early - is Redick instead of Ham. Kings will give us plenty of headaches this year, but we got one of the 4 so far. I think we play our other 3 with them in a freak scheduling dealio over something like 9 days in December. Yea: we play them in SAC on the 19th and the 21st; WTF? Then we close out our dealing with them one week after that. What the hell, schedulers? They added DeRozan, and I can't tell if he fits their chemistry all that well. I suspect it will be a plus for them. But we beat these Mofos! And AD seemed happy to go right into Sabonis's chest. Bad call on a "moving pick" on Lebron in the 4th; also I think D-Lo got mugged baseline on a TO that wasn't called. That helped SAC come back and make some nervous time for us, but the Lakers look smarter and more cohesive overall. The D looks good (still wish Vando was back), but the O is looking really good. How long a 39-40 year can play at this level, I have no idea. We've never even come close to seeing anything like this. No one has. Starters accounted for 118 of the 131. Lakers 3-0 going into a loooooong 5 game roadtrip.
I'm gonna make a prediction that they will cut Westbrook before the year is over if they continue the slide.
too late, I already predicted that scoreboard! Like it even matters, but yes, I agree. I don't think they keep him. I think he's done.
Suns got way too many possessions from careless turnovers when the Lakers were just bringing the ball up the court. Dribblers getting swiped from behind, care less passes. Frustrating Suns did a good job on the offensive glass and then got a bunch of tos or semi this off the Lakers just not being careful and aware
We’re running a bench of Gabe, Max, Knecht, and Hayes, it’s a miracle and a testament to how good are starters are and how much buy-in JJ has had that we were minutes away from being 4-0.
Despite a L another solid night for Rui 20 points 10 rebounds 3/3 downtown amazing Hustle down the stretch
That non-call on AD getting mugged at the rim in the 4th grated on me. We blew a big lead - I think there were 14 lead changes? - and we couldda been 4-0. Damn. What went wrong: damned PHO beat us. What went right: even when this Laker team looks lackadaisical, they're still in it. That 4-point play by AR had me guessing Hillbilly Kobe was gonna win this one for us. Rui was good. Lebron looked...human? 3 of 14 from the field. That will not get it done. D-Lo 5 of 13. A lot of that was Suns D though. But we really haven't seen Groovy D-Lo yet this year. You know: Miles Davis D-Lo. AD: solid. No complaints. Seriously? After 4 games I get the feeling we think we can bang with ANYBODY. Game 1 of the 5 game trip: 0-1. I'd like 3-2 before it's over, but of course we all want 4-1 now. We win the next 4, on the road - no BTBs - we're 7-1...which I can't see. I can see 6-2 or 5-3. Gotta play our A game against CLE. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Nice to not start a season by digging ourselves into a hole for once.
