Under Ham …. Vando and Wood, plus everyone bemoaning our lack of depth and that adds 2 more players before end of bench scrubs.
Lakers do have a lack of depth. Max Christie is a bad. Dalton is a rookie. Hayes is playing as good as he can but the Lakers are gonna have to rely on their starters all year and and have enough to make it through 2 more months of the playoffs if they go that far.
Hence Vando and Wood would help a lot especially with Redick scheming for them instead of Ham playing pocket polo.
Just continues to impress. Beat 3 tough teams, won both sides of the back to back, has a senior citizen Bron aiming to play all 82, has AD gunning for DPOY AND MVP, got AD over the Sabonis kryptonite, slots players in positions to succeed. Draws plays, ATOs look really sharp. We're seeing halftime being utilized and in game adjustments. Timeouts being used. Buy in, vibes, effort are through the roof right now. I want to see the inevitable losing streak and see if all that can be sustained during the first rough patch. But so far, sooooo good.
it's coming. we have a 5-game road trip incoming with three of the games being against projected playoff teams (one of whom we beat already and will be looking to avenge). i'm expecting 3 losses (hoping for just 2), and let's see how everyone responds, particularly the "vibes". still no denying that this year doesn't feel at all like any one since maybe the year after the ring.
...I can't help but chuckle at the fact that every player makes sure to take a moment to throw a not so subtle jab at Ham and the previous staff.
In my head, it plays like this each night and they take turns... DLO hear the question from Dan/Jovan/Kam bro, etc in the locker room. Takes a minute, lean away from the mic, quickly ask the locker room: DLO: "hey Rui, Austin, Bron, AD... we s*** on Ham yet tonight?" They shake their head no. DLO: "say less. I got it. *Leans back up toward the reporters* [Addressing Jovan] we're actually organized this year. Last year the coach didn't run s*** or know what he was doing."
JJ deserves it already. Ham would have us at 0-3. Night and day. Spoiler I take that last part back. It's disrespectful to the night.
1-2. I had a good feeling before preseason when the schedule came out that the Lakers would beat Minnesota convincingly. They are weaker mentally and they just had a franchise shifting trade so they would take a minute to acclimate.
Lakers 1-3 vs Minnesota under Ham last season. And in the one we won, both Towns and Gobert were out. Lakers lost the last 7 season openers. Ham would definitely have lost this one. 0-3.
Yet you were saying this a couple weeks ago: Pick a line man Although you're definitely elite at predicting stuff after it happens
OK … the Lakers GM job according to OX this summer …. what does going “all in” look like? Who of our good players who were all anyone would possibly have wanted …. plus 1 or 2 1st round picks would you have traded for WHOM? Leaving us with what …. still with the untradeable scrubs at the end of the bench?
