Of course he’s a “two way player” with decent D as well right? ;) because that’s what we’re doing now?

Quincy absolutely deserves one of out two way contracts. Do we have to drop someone to sign him?

it’s not just the character, personally and vibes. He’s a hell of a shooter and quick. He has NBA level tools to develop.

    Sign this kid!!!

I loathe giving up on Castleton since we need a decent sized backup center so would rather lose the French PF and give Quincy his 2-way contract. Others might have had it with Colin though at 25 years old vs 21 on the Frenchy with the good motor.

I tried but I just never really saw it with Colin.

definitely think Olivari has earned a spot.

olivari needs one of the two-way slots. i'd drop castleton because i like traore more, but either can go.

we need to solve our center issues with non-two-ways anyway, imo. two-ways are for developing players with promise, and olivari is probably our most promising.

with koloko taking one of those spots, it's not like we're ignoring developing bigs, either.

Sorry didn't see this thread. He's better then JHS, Cokin, Lewis. Give this guy a shot

Yeah I would cut Castleton, if Koloko is alive. One of them should go. Traore looks to have some interesting skills, while we already know who Castleton is (and isn't). Don't think Castleton will have a NBA career but he can be a top player overseas.

I'm not 100% sure Olivari accepts the 2-way. There may be some team out there with a roster spot and willing to give him a multi year min contract and that's better for him. Especially if he ends up in a tanking team that at some point rest starters and give leeway to their youngsters.
If I had to bet, I say he's gone unfortunately

Our problem is not waiving. Is that we are like 45k below the 2nd apron, so if we waive and sign someone, we will be above and have harsher restrictions on trades and eventually lose picks.
So we have to stash someone to a team that eats the salary so it can free up the cap space to sign someone and still be below the 2nd apron

There could be a possibility of stretching a vet min (like Lewis) so that his salary for this year only counts like 25%, with the remaining being sufficient to sign the new guy. Would have to do the math but it's likely not enough

Absolutely agree that there's something in Olivari. He had a great game yesterday, especially considering how poor the team was on offense and he was still able to score a lot AND being efficient

Yeah, I dump Castleton for him. We know what Castleton is. sure... maybe our new development team can get more out of him, but you know the trajectory, ceiling, and limited improvement or ability to put any functional weight to his frame.

We don't know what Traore is yet, might be more clay there to work with. I like his motor better then Castleton's.

If Koloko doesn't get cleared, we can find another 3rd-4th string C out there to develop. We can go scoop up Moses Brown again, he wasn't terrible.

We need to watch out of the talent vultures that are the Chicago Bulls and Memphis Grizzlies. Seems they only send their pro scouts to watch us and steal our guys.

    Look at you Rob

Good job! Glad we're keeping him around. Bucket getter, defender, can run all day, genuinely seems like a great kid, JJ praises his infection attitude and good vibes. Better than #0 and if we need to play another end of bench PG, giving him run over another Mays (who was fine) type makes more sense caused there's actual upside and potential.

Trevor Lane has also had him on his pod and really sings his praises.

He's got good taste in shirts too.

Last night he rocked the Kobe puppet shirt.

Today, another Kobe shirt while hanging out with DLO

QO has special written all over him. CC had his chances, maybe this will shake him up a bit. Don't think he is the last one Olivari is going to pass up.

Kind of an Eric Gordon clone. This kid is good and has intangibles.
