What was the news on Vando? I didn’t see it somehow

 

he opted to be a bum and not do a surgery ASAP and is now not ready for training camp.

 

yeah, i tried to explain a while back that he was a really similar player to mike bibby. he's not superstar; he just plays like one against us.

lol i was confused and thought he delayed surgery, then had it over the summer and was recovering. but instead he's now had this injury for like, a full year? and just sort of rested some, then tried to play, then rested more?

 

And if he is not ready to go soon, I say trade him. If we continue to have any problems with him, he is out of Lebron's window and we should give his opportunity to someone else.

 

i just don't see why anyone trades for him given his current condition. i do say that his current condition makes me less concerned about losing his on-court value in trade. other teams have probably always held to that in negotiations (he's injured and has a guaranteed contract for four years), but i'd have countered with his value to us when he has been healthy (which is pretty amazing, tbh--those 5-man unit numbers with AD/lebron/reaves/dlo are eye-popping). but with this going on, we can't even bother arguing that we're losing something or the opposing team is gaining on-court value. it's just 10 million in ballast now.

 

He's never made an All Star team and he terrifies me.

 

yeah, i ask laker fans to watch him play other games. he's only steph curry against us. again, like mike bibby, there are reasons he's not a perennial allstar. very good? part of a team that wins consistently? clutch/playoff performer? yes. but he has plenty of nights where he looks like crap on offense, and he's consistently weak defensively and must be covered for.

 

Yeah. That's the frustrating part. Guy goes hall of fame against us. Really irritating. lol

 

we don't have good perimeter defenders, and games against us are big stage games for everyone. plus, i think he's always been mad we didn't draft him, lol.

anyway, cam thomas looked like the second coming of mj against us last year, too.
