the vando thing royally sucks. i know he has his detractors, but we missed him terribly last year, imo. he's what makes playing dlo and reaves possible. without him, we have to live with being a bad defensive team despite employing freaking anthony davis.

Put the T in there on me. :swear: :swear: Dead money again if he can’t play and no team wants him included in a trade. Seems very questionable decision (not knowing anything about the required procedure or its chances of fixing whatever down in his foot is going on) …. to not have it immediately following the season or earlier even. Fixing it by rehab alone always seemed like a crapshoot. Then again not my foot and career and he got paid. Uggghhh!!!

yeah, if he doesn't recover from surgery and play well, that's dead money for three years...player option in that last one...

Right. I'm definitely a Vando guy so this really sucks on a number of levels. We absolutely need him during the regular season.

Also makes sense that teams would be hesitant to bring him in on a trade not knowing if he is going to be ready to go.

I don't understand not having the surgery but in fairness, I don't know what he was told about his injury. Just feels like at a certain point if rehab isn't working its time to explore the other options.

Yeah from the outside it's weird they didn't go with surgery. But we don't know the details and I'm sure he and the team are the ones more interested in solving this issue.

As Abeer said, he's the key to have DLo and Reaves playing together. If there's no Vando, I'm in the camp of starting Gabe and bringing DLo or Reaves off the bench.

And it's not only him missing preseason and the first games (let's see how many). It's JJ not having time to work out with a key guy in our defensive scheme, it's also Vando starting to play midseason trying to catch up and without a proper collective ramp up with the group.

Really bad news for us and we're still 2 months away from the season. Yikes

I would not hate that we tried this out by trading DLO but honestly, if we trade Rui and Vando, we are done for the year. Just like last year. We NEED Vando, without him, we win 45 games. Got no D on perimeter.

Honestly, Lavine is damaged goods, nothing it going to change with him.

Yeah, it is really unfortunate. If Vando misses time, I would prefer to start Christie over Rui, because we would need somebody to be point-of-attack defender. Could be a great opportunity for Max to break into the starting unit and never look back.

i'd be thrilled if max could make that happen with a strong training camp. seems like a longshot, but it's his third year, which is often where you see some growth from these guys drafted super young.

Anyone listen to this? Curious what all was said about Knecht and his additional muscle added. Maybe not that kind of "bulk".... and like Luka he likes LOTS of beer during his summers off?

Yeah, I mostly agree with him. We had a solid team and were unlucky with the injuries. But with better management and small changes we could have competed for the championship once again.

kuzma wouldn't have turned into the player he is now had he stayed. lebron hampered his development and he's one of those guys who can't handle the pressure of playing for the lakers. no surprise he's blossomed on a lottery team in washington

there's no denying the westbrick trade was awful and set the franchise back, but losing kuzma was never that big of a deal to me. losing KCP and caruso was what truly hurt

Is it a new rule that they sign and waive two players next day or something big is coming ?

I imagine that Kuz,Kcp and Caruso, all shooting 30% from the field, and 20% from 3 in that Phoenix series, had something to do with Rob's thinking. Letting Alec walk was a bad move, but Rob had tried to move Kuz and Kcp all season and couldn't find any takers. Even the Wizards passed on that trade at first.

It's to stash them in our g-league team and allow them to make a bit more money

Curious thing..he went from "possibly" being available in the Denver series, to maybe not being ready until after training camp? It had to be some sort of setback occurring here.

Was it ever confirmed that Lebron had surgery on his foot?
