Yes. Well apparently not for me. They were just disappearing and leaving an empty post when I clicked on them. And when highlighting and copying them to paste into a google search as above in my reply I was getting a typical whole page of search results ….. not about his wedding. No idea.

    :Kobe Shrug:

What do you see Cookie if you click on that one in my reply? Just curious.

I see the same thing you do if I click on the link from your post that you do but not if I click on the original Reddit post.

I recently rewatched the televised funeral again. He was my hero, and I think it's good to let it out. I know some here say they haven't seen it.

i think the playing hurt aspect is a legitimate shift. my dad thinks kawhi leonard could have played a lot more but wasn't willing to go out there when he couldn't dominate. kobe went out there with broken fingers on his shooting hand, knowing his percentages would drop. he took shots that he knew were unlikely to go down because they were better shots than the offense was generating otherwise. he just wanted to compete and win. i'm not sure that's there anymore, though it's why i'm a bigger luka fan than most on the forum. if luka was kawhi, he would have sat the last three series of his team's playoff run this year (meaning they wouldn't have happened), imo.

anyway, yes, kobe was the last of a certain kind of player. i loved iverson, too, for similar reasons.

Wow it looks like so much more, I guess, due also to the discrepancy in the size of their heads.

    :Crazyartest:

Plus Kobe is slightly behind him in relation to the camera .... left shoulder behind Yao's right shoulder.

It changed with player empowerment. Few were Kobe tough, but pre-load management players played through injuries it wasn't even a thought. If they could tough it out, they typically would. It's what was expected. Now back to backs or the risk of potential sniffles will completely shut down a player.

Thibs still pushed that ideology. I think Butler tries but his body is starting to not cooperate with that mentality by the time the playoffs roll around.

When these guys are getting paid 50+ million a year, whether they are injured or not, sure gives them incentive to play as many years as possible. I would probably play in an injury avoidance manner if I was a player. A couple of extra years at the end of your career could be an extra 120 million!! WOW!!!

Yeah it's pretty much that. I can't blame them but it sucks as a fan. I still think there's too many games though

The flip side is what frustrates fans and former players though: guys gritted it out who didn't make in their entire career what one of today's good players makes in one contract.

Players don't care enough about the fans paying for the tickets or who can only watch them play on a nationally televised game to show up for them. League stepped in with the minimum games played for award consideration but I think that's more from the pressure they're feeling from the gambling revenue and those endorsement dollars. Legalized sports betting is the best thing that happen to limit unnecessary load management.
