I was hoping we could dump vincent and reddish and then bring Dinwiddie back. This def sucks that he not only left but went to a team like the Mavs where he fits in really well. I guess that just means more time for...Max Christie?
Spencer we hardly knew ye. Okay, okay, we knew ye and your offensive chops didn't exactly explode for us, but we liked your defense (esp. that end-of-game block on Dame) and your general look, the way you carried yourself. Wish we could've retained ya, but it's a damned Biz. Best of luck to you in DAL, except for when you play against us.
It's completely on Ham . In Dallas he played his best games was scoring 30 + points,a lot of times he started In Brooklyn in playoffs he was scoring all games in double digits
yeah, gabe and reddish for a center with spencer filling the backup pg role would have been nice. nobody's playing ball, though. let's see how everyone feels in december.
I would have liked to retain Dinwiddie. But it was a big ask and he couldn't wait forever. Good for him that he's going back to where he's played some of his best ball. I'll miss the guy. His D was way better than I ever imagined and I think he could have revived that shot under JJ. Ah well.
Yup, Ham had no idea how to use him. We needed help with scoring off the bench after Rui had to start with Vando out and Dinwiddie fell in our laps at that time. But nope, Ham never gave him a scoring role at all. And then he got even more confused when Gabe came back.
in fairness, he was garbage for most of the early part of this season, so much so that dallas fans were all saying he was cooked. kidd stuck with him, and he pulled out of it and is contributing. i was annoyed last year that ham didn't give him more minutes down the stretch. this summer, we'd have had to pay to offload someone in order to keep him and/or not signed bronny.
Never forgive Ham for throwing Vincent who hadn't played in a year into the mix for playoff games and taking away Spence's minutes. He was playing real well for the Lakers and he's a guy who needs minutes to get in the flow. He finally finds a rotation that works with 3 big guards with different strengths (Dinwiddie was a surprisingly good defender and was able to fill in for Dlo) Once Vincent got minutes for just having a contract it just threw everything off and Spence was never the same. I thought he definitely bought into his role and his performance reflected that till Ham or the FO telling Ham to play Gabe messed it all up
Who didn't want Spence back in terms of fans? This thread is filled with posts moaning him just be let go. Ham and the FO though arrggh
3 level scorer who could run the offense, was willing to defend and do whatever was asked. For pennies. So glad we gave out POs like candy and instead have Fitbit Vincent out there.
