him n pops wanted this, so no dont feel sorry....feel sorry for Rob (not really), his "earned" comment aged well
I'm watching the highlights, or should I say lowlights from tonight's game. Oof, that was just brutal.
That kid is going to get smoked like a doobie. No chance he plays in anything other than garbage time or the Lakers might as well downgrade to the G League.
I can't see it. I think we may see him and LeBron suit up together a couple of times during the preseason but do not expect much during the year at all absent some key injuries or a complete blowout.
I think there will be a line that both LeBron and the organization won't want to cross. Not sure what is it though I'm sure Bron wants to play with his son in real games multiple times. But I doubt it will come at the expense of wins. Garbage time will surely happen. They may want to push to some meaningful minutes here and there but it will be hard to sustain if he's this bad. It also won't bode well with other players in the roster that lose those minutes and overall it's a bad message to the team. I'm also afraid he will suck in g-league and it will be hard to postpone much his opportunities, so I imagine he will play this calendar year
The historic moment of Lebron and Bronny playing together during a real NBA game is definitely happening this season. It’s not just Lebron, I think Jeanie wants that to happen in the purple and gold too. And with Lebron’s contract situation and age, I don’t see a scenario where they’d be okay waiting a year for that moment while they wait for Bronny to hopefully develop into a more deserving player. Lebron might opt out and leave, he might chose to retire, he might get hurt, etc. They’re not going to risk a scenario where that moment never ends up happenings I think there will inevitably be a few players nursing an injury such that it’s viable to have Bronny on the active roster, and he will play at least a few garbage time minutes with Lebron. Could even see a situation where he gets thrown into a game early. For example maybe the crowd is dead so JJ throws Bronny and Lebron in during the second quarter for a few minutes to hype the crowd with the historic moment and try to generate some momentum I do NOT anticipate any attempts at making him a consistent part of the rotation. He won’t see significant playing time beyond a few token minutes. He is obviously not close to an NBA caliber player yet, and most likely never will be. But I would generally assume a player taken near the end of the second round is most likely never going to make an NBA rotation, or if they do they probably are still 2-3 years away from it. If we drafted someone else at 55 who put up similar numbers as Bronny in summer league, I don’t think anybody would have really blinked an eye. But that doesn’t mean it’s impossible for him to develop. There is way too much hyperbole around his summer league performance. If the hope is that he can eventually develop into a defensive focused backup guard, him missing a lot of 3’s in his first summer league doesn’t really affect how I see his chances one way or another. I’m more curious to see how he performs next summer league after a year of run in the G-League (and honestly I no longer see college as necessarily being that much better for a players development than the G-League) Sure it’s unfortunate we gave a multi-year guaranteed contract to a player who might not ever crack a rotation. But Maxwell Lewis might not ever crack a rotation either. And we traded cash for the right to draft him at an even earlier pick. Don’t really hear too much uproar about his situation.
Lewis got a 4 year contract but only 2 of the years are guaranteed. That same contract would have been more than generous for Bronny. Lewis needs to be cut from the roster. He isn’t a NBA player.
At least Ham isn't here. He would have already inked Bronny in as a starter. Most of this could be laughed away but the contract takes the humor out of it. Money wise it is chump change but it does mess up a roster spot. That LeBron, Bronny moment will be the first home game or at least well orchestrated. The eye of the sports world will be on it. Mega ratings if played right. Maybe a little mystery so multiple games gave high ratings.
