This is an excellent podcast from the LFR guys. Darius is a lot like me and some others here not seeing a lot of positives, Mike is somewhere in the middle, and Pete balances it out with some optimism, for those about to jump off the cliff like myself it’s a worthwhile listen.
I avoided most talk on the game and the season thus far but gave this one a listen and agree. Good takes as always from these guys.
These are 2 fantastic shows on the current state of the Lakers, the 2nd one dealing with what paths we have to improving, how we should value the picks, weigh trying to win now vs the future. Darius especially makes some great points about wanting continuity and valuing of bird rights.
What I like thats brought up is that our ask of Lebron and AD is too much. They can have perfect games but that doesn't guarantee a win. The rest of the team around them is better than last year but there's no one there that can make up for when the two stars sturggle (even just a little bit).
There is nobody on this team that can make a 3 with any consistency at all. You are not going to win in this league without 3 point shooters. You can have mediocre defense and 3 point shooters and you will win. If you have shooters who can play even a bit of D, you are competing for a ring.
IMO this is a must listen, this guy broke down our situation masterfully, our FO needs to be held accountable, and they’re hiding. The sound starts at about 45 seconds in
Because it was disabled by Lakers Fast Break for watching on websites other than YouTube. But yes, it works fine on YT.
rookies smh JK, I think if you are monetizing it, it may have to play on Youtube to get credit, etc. But I'm probably wrong about that.
LOL the Lakers told Pete he can stay an employee and stop the podcast or walk if he wants to keep doing it and he walked. They didn’t like how he talked about the Dan Hurley thing as a “saga”, so lame and petty. Basically they just decided “we don’t want Lakers employees doing a podcast”. I’m glad, now they can go back to discussing the team as they like and they don’t have to have that company man Trudell on. And I like Trudell, he seems like a good dude, he does good work, but that’s not what I tune into Lakers podcasts for, I want honest coverage good or bad. Great pod, a little peek behind the curtain.
I feel a little bad for Pete since working for the Lakers was surely a dream job for him, but at least now he can do the podcast without having to be "politically correct". It definitely looks petty and lame as hell on the Lakers' part. I will greatly miss Trudell though. Yes he tends to portray everything in a too optimistic light, but I always liked what he brought to the pod. I always liked the eipsodes where all three participated the most.
Sucks for Pete to lose his dream job but glad he doesn't have a muzzle on when speaking about the Lakers anymore. Definitely looking forward to the daily podcasts again.
You can’t have employees saying the team sucks out loud that could be a problem. Nobody’s job is safe.
I will definitely miss Trudell on there. He was a great addition and his perspective was great to hear. That said, Pete and Darius are fantastic analysts, and I look forward to them doing pods 5 days a week. The more LFR the better.
Yeah. Truly hate seeing any regular Joe get let go from a job but I think in the end they will be fine. Their content is top notch.
