Here's Lane's proposal for Kessler

 

why would the Lakers do this 27 the lakers are going to be in a rebuild most likely. Just for Kessler?

If it was just Rui and Gabe, I would make that trade. Gabe did not hardly even play last year and I think Grant is a bit better than Rui. I think, in practicality, it's an upgrade for us. But, I doubt that trade will ever happen, so that is not the condition of making it.

 

Why on earth would Bulls do that? If they're trading Zach it's because they want to tank. It's not the brightest idea if you're giving out picks lol

yeah. while weezy is right about kessler proving more value than a standard 1st already, he's set to be paid soon (which is why utah wants to move him) and didn't seem to improve from year one to year two (worrisome).

no way i unprotect the 2027. there's a very good chance we're awful in 2026-27 (first or second year post-lebron). jhs and a top-8 protected 2029 should be enough for kessler, imo. throw dlo for sexton on top of it to make it look like other stuff's happening.

i feel like getting johnson/sharpe from the nets might be cheaper/more sensible, too.

 

yeah, i want to hear more about the supposed 1st attached to lavine in the gs offer. doesn't seem to make much sense for chicago to do that. reminds me of when everyone said we needed two 1sts to get off russ's expiring contract. the narrative has gotten out of control.

bradley beal was traded to phx in a similar situation to lavine's, imo. very large contract, coming off injuries, high risk/reward, on a team going nowhere. washington got 4 pick swaps and 6 seconds (plus paul's giant expiring and landry shamet--who still had some value then). lavine's peak wasn't as good as beal's, so the ask shouldn't be the same, but the idea that they have to pay to get off him can't be palatable to a tanking team. if he's that bad, just let him help you tank.

 

Funny you put up the kinda true no win …. damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t post about LeBron, and now post this about Rob. Make a trade …. any damn trade?

 

Kessler makes sense, but Rob is probably too focussed on getting rid of bigger salaries. The wait continues...

Gabe and Vando definitely are since they were unavailable basically all year. And there will be internal improvement from our more important role players under Redick IMO. You’re free to do the glass empty opinion plus Rob sucks of course. Do you not see the similarity to 2 years ago that I detailed though with the fan base going nuts over Rob not taking bad deals to get off Russ all first part of the season?

 

I don't think upgrading from Rui to Grant makes us a realistic contender. And then we'd have no first to trade, just swaps.
