you're just buying into the media narrative of what opposing teams wanted from LA, the roster predicament is also on Rob allowing Wood, Jax and Reddish to dictate the roster spots not to mention useless Vincent

No way we can't strike a deal with those teams to clear roster spots. Hayes and Cam are nice projects for tanking teams. Lewis or JHS too. Wood is a tank commander.

There's still plenty good free agents left tho, but Detroit paid 6m to Beasley, so they are using cap space to get extra picks.

they have to compete because they've traded away all their picks to SA: their 25 and 27 are unprotected, and the 26 is an unprotected swap. tanking is just not an option, and they need both centers. interesting that they had no interest in ingram. i thought ingram for murray was the deal, but they traded murray to NO without ingram's inclusion.

things have to be awkward in NO with them trying to move ingram and getting no interest.

i'm sure they're our fallback dump options and trade facilitators, but i'm not sure we're as hellbent on movement as the fans believe.

i mean, yes, there are better FAs on the market than reddish and hayes, but maybe we haven't gotten any signs that they'd join us were we to successfully dump them.

with the word that we're not interested in lavine, the offloading of salaries in a trade aren't as important (the potential/rumored bkn and portland trades can be done without a third team, imo).

worth noting though that both teams need to hit the salary floor, so it would be in their best interest to eat some salary somewhere and pick up some seconds instead of just paying their current players more.

edit: and the pistons only have 12 players under contract right now. the jazz have 13. you have to carry 14.

so you buy whatever the media says? and those 3 +1 bums isnt on Rob? If you asking for proof, wheres the proof that teams are asking for this and that from LA?

no. but it beats just assuming whatever pessimistic fantasy i concocted in my head is the truth and then getting mad about it?

the proof is that no deal was made. where's your proof that grant was available for less than two 1sts and d****** rob just, i don't know, fell asleep on the phone or whatever?

Actually I think Rob is being smart at this point in the game.If you can’t get your C or POA guard why use any assets on players that only make you marginally better? At this time it’s better to wait it out and see if anything materializes

yes. the current roster is good enough to win 50 games and be in a position of strength during trade season.

DUDE …. you’re delusional! I’ve read here this team sucks the proverbial BIG one. Multiple opinions from here and abroad. We stink. Like only 6-8 guys on the team belong in the NBA.

I'd think so too. Don't feel like the deals are done across the league at all to be honest.

I'm with abeer - why are we going to extinguish 1-2 starters PLUS assets to land Jerami Grant, the guy that EVERYONE said was easily the worst contract in the league a day after he signed it last summer?

I'm good on that...guy averaged like 3 rebounds a game as a 6'8 forward lol. No thanks man

Feels like a lot of teams have cold feet right now as far as trades which is interesting to watch. We'll see how long that lasts. The reality of the season and what teams really need to either be competitive or tank for Flagg should set in at some point and then some of these rumored talks across the league should materialize into something.

100% agree. We have 2 pressing needs and there's no available players at this point. It's the best move to hold and wait for the right time.
Yes! Play-in opened up the field and there's teams in the limbo that will try to see if they can get that extra revenue. But in the deadline teams decide if they want to tank and for Flagg there might be more teams than usual.

Just last year Jrue popped up out of nowhere in late September and Boston won the championship because of that. We are in position to make almost any move and that player will become available

Y’all really think this chicken s*** team is going to win 50 games next year with zero improvement in talent and a new coach whom has never coached in the NBA, even as an assistant, with your two stars playing in the Olympics and a conference where all but three teams (12 teams) have teams that can make the playoffs? Asking for a friend….

It’s possible. Ham was SOOO bad. But if the stars are on limited minutes or experience injury, we could be in for a world of hurt.

The deal was Rui and Gabe. I don’t think either is a starter. That’s the point. You’re trading to get a starting caliber player which Grant is. He’s a two way player, scores 20 ppg, shoots 40% from three and is a good defender. His rebounding isn’t great but it’s the same as Rui. Grant is a great fit to play alongside Lebron and AD. Rui hasn’t proved to be a consistent one.
