    the internet forgets nothing lol

    I like Nate as he was known as a defensive guy as a player. Solid choices. Maybe Rob wasn't napping ya'all.

    i think young went out the window when they traded for our 2025 draft pick, but this doesn't help for future recruiting efforts.

    Amazin hires. Jj taking his time getting good assistants. Killer off-season continues. Looks like we are committing to actually developing young guys, looking for continuity instead of taking homerun swings constantly and fouling them into the stands. So far we have avoided the crushing signings of fading stars. Nice to see we are being smart and not panicking like we have in the past. I know we have some here that can't stand the idea of developing youth but that was my job and I love watching it happen.

    Very strong additions.
    Now let’s dump some of our scrubs, get a decent big, and sign Dinwiddie!

    Good moves: JJ has done well so far in getting McMillan and Brooks. Mcmillan for one doesn't suffer fools so we know he'll speak his mind if he feels JJ needs to hear some advice from a veteran coach.

    If it's true, I don't like it. We got the better ones so it's weird they were plan B

    carefully worded. vaughn "appears to have passed on" it, and gentry and casey both like working in management. it's possible offers weren't made in any case. it's possible none of them is very interested in assistant coaching jobs (definitely sounds like casey and gentry aren't). to some on the outside, it could be written that i appeared to have passed on the job at a university years ago because i applied and interviewed there and took a different job. the reality was that after the interview, i wasn't sure i wanted to work there, and i had an offer somewhere else that i liked. they were also further behind in their process, so even though i pulled out of the pool, it's quite possible they weren't going to offer me the job anyway. did i pass on it? should they be embarrassed? or is this just, you know, how interviewing and hiring goes?

    to me, that's how we should have played with hurley, btw.

    anyway, if you'd asked me two weeks ago if i wanted brooks/mcmillan or casey/vaughn, i'd probably have preferred the former? casey, in particular, seemed like he was kinda done with the coaching the last i saw him (and this report seems to support that idea).

    Yeah i prefer the package we landed on. Vaughn does have a better defensive reputation though and we're lacking there, I'll wait to see who fills out the other two front of bench chairs first.

    The Los Angeles Lakers are adding Greg St. Jean as an assistant coach to JJ Redick’s staff, league sources told
    @hoopshype
    . He won a championship as part of Frank Vogel’s Lakers staff in 2020 and has since been an assistant coach with Jason Kidd in Dallas and Vogel in Phoenix.

    Nice. Glad this is coming together.

    I sense that Nate and Scott are going to be the good cop/bad cop based on what I'm hearing from both of their personalities. That's also a lot of experience on the bench where you need it for managing the game, reviews, etc.

    Good job, Kurt. Earn your "Senior Advisor" money. LOL.
