i'd be rooting for him if someone else drafted him. the blowback isn't fair, imo. he's just doing what he can. interesting bit about how he had to kind of eat second at usc, too. people think he's been propped up, but apparently not there, lol.
I didn't watch any USC outside of Bronny's first game just to see that moment. But a few of the draft experts blame the program for how they prepped their one- and-dones. Blaming them for Collier slipping to the end of the first. Didn't seem like Bronny had a good experience, even if he didn't stay in the draft he was likely going to portal hop to another school.

The guaranteed contract before he’s played a single minute is a bad look, I’m sorry, I don’t see how it can be looked at any other way. Like I figured he’d get a roster spot because that was what Paul said, not taking a 2-way deal, but I also thought they’d wait until after he’d played a little to let people forget Paul said that maybe. I think other 2nd rounders do that all the time, maybe I’m wrong, I dunno. He may be good, he may be worth an NBA guaranteed roster spot, but at THIS moment in time, he’s not, or at least he hasn’t shown he is.
we signed max lewis to a guaranteed deal last year, right? same with christie the year before, i think. we definitely do this. i really think bronny will be an nba player. maybe not this year, but i think he's going to find a spot as a bulldog defender at the pg/sg spots.
Lewis didn’t sign last year until July 9th, maybe the deal was already in place, but we didn’t hear about it until he had already played some summer league games, not really the same. Max, I can’t remember when he signed, but he was the 35th pick, not the 55th. Come on abeer, I get defending the FO, because somebody has to, but this is a weird look.

Worked up? I couldn’t have been more calm when I typed up my original post, I even waited a day to even chime in because I was so unbothered. But those are my genuine thoughts so I shared them for the record I guess, it’s a bad look IMO. And yes, waiting a week and letting us see him play and look fine, which I imagine he will, would shut a lot of people up. Could go the other way too, but I doubt it. Again, I didn’t say it was a bad move, it was expected, but it was a bad look at this moment, when we have no trades or signings made other than our own players and people are already mad. The Lakers have PR people, but maybe they need a better one of those as well haha.

You touch an important thing for me. That fans aren't happy. I'm glad we aren't run to appease fans happiness. I like that in an organization. Of course that should be paired with a concrete plan (which I believe we have), but it's a first premise that shows to me we know what we are doing. Doing anything just for the sake of it ruins franchises. I want us competing every year,so I like my team is run with that in sight and not fans' happiness. In that same token, there are reasons for unhappiness. We did nothing in FA, which we needed, and coaching staff is yet to be finalized with a summer league starting next week. Not good at all. It's not the end of the world, but it's a C-
We also learned from signing the kids to two year deals where we have to pay them big money before any other team has to pay their rooks.
compromise was three guaranteed years, though. i know this is a talking point in the press, but i...like the two year deals? arenas RFA rules, man. we have reaves at a huge discount because of it. if he had a regular contract, he'd have been a free agent this year able to command like, three times his salary!
