Oh BS Pika. Grant is 29 years old man, what the hell, are you guys even talking about? He's not 35. Who cares about where some pick, may or may not be, 5 years from now if you got a chip?

Dallas just went to Finals, they weren't top 3 in the West. Hell..picking up Grant and Derozan is top 4 then, if that makes it more palatable to you.

We only owe NO 1 more pick, and we have all our picks after that. So two picks isn't really ruining jack, for the future.

    White is a 6'4 PG/SG, 4th or 5th option, Grant is a 6'8 SF/PF 1st or 2nd option. Two totally different worlds there guy.

Redick was hired to coach the team, we have absolutely no idea what his "system " is. I don't really care for a "system ' HC over an adaptable one.

Regarding DDR, AD and Rui take enough long twos. We don't need three guys doing that. It is inefficient.

I think this is the best scenario as things stand (believing we are throwing 4 years to Klay)
DLo for Klay S&T (I don't think you can add a 3rd team in s&t)
    Melton for MLE
    Reddish+Hayes+2nds for Nick Richards

    1st unit:
    Melton
    Reaves
    Klay
    Bron
    AD

    2nd unit:
    Gabe
    Max
    Vando
    Rui
    Richards
    +
    Knecht

That's a 11 man rotation that covers a couple injuries

    Scrubs:
    Wood for AD insurance
    JHS for 3rd PG
    Bronny for Bron
    Lewis

    _________________
    We swap:
    DLo for Melton
    Prince for Klay
    Hayes for Richards
    Reddish for Knecht

Rui has shown to play worse from the bench. Maybe you trade him for a better center. But there aren't many available. Atlanta won't trade Capela for him, they're betting in Johnson at the 4.

We would have, Rui, Gabe, Vando, Reaves, Melton, Klay and Max in nice contracts to trade for the next star that wants out

Yikes. A lot of venom and stress in here for July 1.

I say we sign Demar if he will take MLE, keep DLO (let’s see what JJ can do with him, Reeves, Knecht, Gabe, Max, etc), get another big, get Rui improved on D/rebounding and Vandy healthy. Had this team faced OKC in round 1, it would have won that series. My opinion. The West is so tough - 1 player of these available won’t propel the Lakers to the top. Health and coaching/player-development, however, could (as long as they avoid Denver).

Wyc also just put the team up for sale. So he doesn’t care because he won’t be paying that tax anyhow.

But he is NOT a walking brain fart waiting to happen not once, not twice ..... any multiple number of times in any game including at the worst possible times ..... before you get to other horrible things about the this point in his career "Russ Experience". Spencer is NOT that guy and that makes him a better player who still has some game and you can trust in there to play smartly.

It's always hard to argue with you because you always ignore what doesn't meet your narrative and it's a waste of time. Just yesterday you said we were 1-8 in our last 2 series which is extremely nitpicking to draw a negative image when we basically lost to the champs and defending champs. Even more funny is you want Grant so much, that don't help us beat Denver in any capacity.
    But here's my take:
    Grant is 30. He'll be 37 in 2031.

I don't think Bron, AD and Grant put us near the title. I think we improve marginally, and that's not the price I'm willing to give. I don't know what type of player Grant is, but he is in his prime playing for tanking teams. For years no contending team went after him, that should tell you something.
He's a scorer, who doesn't rebound, 0 playmaking and a good defender. So he's basically Rui with a bit more defense. Do you think that is THE move that bring us a chip? I don't.

I think even less that DDR AND Grant makes us better. That's DDR playing 2 and Bron playing 3. It's awful and we wouldn't stop no one. You can't just throw sexy names in a lineup, there's roles that have to fit, I think this is clear in today's basketball after so many superteams failing.

We owe 2027 pick that we gave out in Russ trade. It's top4 protected if not wrong, so it's basically not ours unless we're one of the worse teams in the league, which I don't think is our goal with Bron and AD in the team.
If we give 2 picks now, the next time we have 3 picks like we had this year is in 2030 (after the draft). Really think about that. That's 5 straight offseasons and 6 deadlines without big spending power, that matters to me. There's no longer big FA names available, only washed superstars, so we really have to take it into factor when dealing such picks, imo.

Grant is a 1st/2nd option in teams that win 20 games a year. They're both role players in their position. White is a DPOY candidate in the champions, Grant is playing in the 3rd worse team in the league.

Redick was hired because the organization believed in his philosophy to lead us to success. Every one has a style and a vision. If you're good at making lemonades, I'm not giving you apples and ask you for pies. Yes, ability to adapt is a good skill, but you need to play to people strengths and if you spend time listening to JJ in different platforms, he values shooting, spacing and 2 way guys. DDR checks none of those boxes, so why making that decision?

It's all fun and speculation, we knew we didn't have any money to spend in free agency. It was always going to be about trades.

If we got Derozan on a MLE..that would be a bigger coup, than some S&T for Klay. Now we could move Rui/Vanderbilt for Grant, and hopefully pack Tinkerbell off somewhere for a big. Capela or Wendell Carter or something.

Totally different look, heading into training camp. That's a much better team, a more versatile team.

    Yeah, good take!
His last season injury puts me off guard too, and apparently Philly as well as they're letting him walk. We just wasted a MLE in a guy that spent all year injured so we do need to be certain of his health

Yeah, this is ideal. Melton is the archetype PG to put next to Reaves. Also, theoretically, Rui could be traded for Klay, Dlo and/or others salary dumped and/or traded for big, and still have MLE for Melton.

Just count up the number of, hit the side of the backboard shots last year and it’s easy to see which player is better. Of course if Bron and AD played more than 22 games with Russ he wouldn’t have hit the backboard as often.

I know there's spacing concerns with DDR, but man...the guy is the closest thing to Kobe in terms of play style. Would just bring that those nice vibes if we got him to come here.

    :Brows:

I think DDR could have a Rondo type of impact for us if we get into the playoffs. Most teams in the modern NBA don't really defend the mid-range well.

I'm ok with that. They could go higher than us with the TPE. Hopefully we can get DDR.
