    He looks so goofy lol.

That look when you're a big and picked #12 for a "reason".

That smile.... Either he realizes how great an opportunity he has laid out in front of him or he just ripped a nasty one....

Upshaw can definitely make life difficult for anyone trying to score in the paint. I really am pulling for him to put his past behind him and stick with the team.

It somewhat depends on the length of Bass' contract .

But honestly don't think it makes Black expendable at all. He's more than capable of succeeding at either from court spot and the front office told him in the exit meeting to expect time at both positions. He's young, knows his role, hard worker, physical, versatile, capable of starting at either spot if injuries occur. There's not a whole lot of guys like that around, especially at his bargain pay rate -- even in the new cap world, I expect his next contract will still be good value. Randle has extremely limited experience and Upshaw has none. Also there's no guarantees Hibbert won't go through peaks and valleys like other not mentally strong bigs we've had (Pau, LO).

If Hibbert stays, Upshaw pans out, and Black doesn't pull a Jordan Hill, then I lock all three up long term. Use the rest of your cash getting a superstar SF and split what you have left on real depth at SF and SG/PG (whichever spot Lou doesn't want).

Man if you have the time listen that interview. Very well done. He sounds like he's got a good group of people around him now and he's finally happy, humble and ready to focus on basketball. He's supremely confident in his game as well.

    - 11:35 mark - " I think there is a big possibility that I will be a Los Angeles Laker at the end of all this."

I bet Mitch was like, go out in SL, ball out, dominate Okafor/Towns and at the end of the day we will have a contract ready for you to sign.

I'm sure mitch already told him if he keeps his head straight and dominates on defense during summer league then he'll be signed. He knows who he's playing against the first 2 summer league games :)

We acquired Roy Hibbert to mentor the better version of Roy Hibbert.

I think there's a handshake agreement in place, too. Could be that come July 10th we offer him a contract, probably 1+1 given how we do business. Upshaw has uncanny timing and reach, so he'll block a ton of shots. I want Hibbert to teach him positional defense and contesting shots without going for the block, too.

Upshaw said that he wants to model his game to Lamarcus Aldridge in an interview. People don't know that he has a nice jumpshot.

I posted a video of him somewhere. It was between the end of the season and the start of the draft. He was running the floor and hitting threes. I think people are really in for a surprise when they see what he's capable of. I'm not saying he SHOULD model his game on Aldridge, mind you; I'd rather see him close to the paint and hustling on D.

Should have been clearer. I meant expendable in the idea that we could potentially trade him as a great asset and get something great back. You're right that he can play PF too and that'd make a sick rotation depending on how long Bass is around. Bass is only 30 though and I'm not going to pile dirt up on him just yet. If he gives us solid veteran presence, he deserves a spot here.

    Randle/Black
    Hibbert/Upshaw

Moving into the future though? Give 'em a couple years?

Ruh freaking Roh. That would be like Jordan Hill forgetting who he was and falling in love with his no contact game away from the basket.
