I wouldn't be shocked, if we didn't make an offer at all. Talking about, what we "allegedly " offered last season, isn't the same thing, as an actual offer today

 

btw, i know people are joking about it--but if klutch can't deliver dejounte to us at that price, i'm not sure what our relationship with them is worth. that's a conference rival that just got our prime target (from your agency) for less than what we were offering at the deadline.



you can't argue it's a better spot for your client. he's a starter on a contender here.

it's a fair question. i feel like we have worked our relationship with them around the margins to each side's benefit, though. this is why i don't understand this. feels like we weren't that interested in murray? but we definitely pursued him a few months ago...again...need to hear the post-mortem on this. and people will squawk.

Honestly think we genuinely prefer Trae.

Felt like if Murray was our guy we would’ve done it before the trade deadline.

Nah man. His only awful move was the Westbrick trade, and that’s because he was coerced by LeGM and AD.
Coaching choices, on the other hand…
I’m remaining positive that the JJ hire will eventually work out- personally, I think he’s a real piece of sh$t as a human being because of that abortion contract(if real) and the slurs(if real), but, he could turn out to be a good coach someday.
I wouldn’t have picked him, even last out of 50 options, but I’m done cryin’ over spilled milk. Time to move on and hope that this year’s squad can be fun, at least most of the time.

 

If the rumors are true that DLO is opting in, we may have just preferred to use our assets for a big man or another shooter.

 

lol, when i was in high school, my good friends (who were brothers) loved pro wrestling. i always thought it was utterly ridiculous, but i liked them. we watched the malone/rodman/hogan/ddp on ppv, and it was glorious.

 

I’d think so too but I think teams want to at least look like they got an equal or better deal with the Lakers. They don’t care about the optics of a deal with teams like the Pelicans. They are only cheating themselves but it seems to be the bottom line these days.

 

If we give up AR to get Trae, I’m done for a season. It won’t be hard since I’m moving all the way to Savannah, GA.

 

Here's a few observations and thoughts based on roster moves and what JJ and Rob have said:

1) our draft picks, two-ways and exhibit 10 deals were not for a center. Before Knecht fell, Irwin said we wanted to draft a center. So now I'm guessing we pivot back to addressing that in FA.

2) JJ mentioned the significance of two way players. We didn't draft that or hand out two-way deals for that mold. it's not available for the limited FA money we have. Has to be a trade and one of the options just went to NO for a bag of Walmart pretzels.

3) JJ wanted shooting. That is one area we addressed with Knecht, Hinson and Olivari.

4) Vando was not mentioned as part of the group they wanted Hurley to develop or at the presser. Rui was mentioned in both. Vando heading out?


I'm going to throw out some FAs I like by position either tonight, tomorrow or both. In-a-vacuum based additions. Too difficult to cobble together scenarios until we at least know how the DLO situation is going to play out.

 

I actually won’t put this all on Rob for the reasons I said above (I basically don’t think we were ever really all in on Murray).

I do think we need to beef up the front office and that he should hire someone under him with good relationships around the league though.

 

I can’t wait until we’re done with Klutch.

 

Yeah. I have to think we want a big man especially if we are giving up our picks. Feel like things around Jarrett Allen are quiet. I’d like to know what Cleveland wants for him.
