actually completely agree with Woj here. Also rolling my eyes at the pundits pretending that agents don’t try to get their guy to certain teams literally every year in every sport. We’ve likely got multiple guys asking not to be drafted as well.
I think it never happened to the point of a kid who has no business playing in the NBA getting drafted. He averaged 5/3/2 in college shooting 37%, 27% 3pt and 68% FT. I wish him well, I don't want to sound like a hater. I just think this is silly and this effort to try to make it as he "earned it" is wrong. It is what it is, LeBron built such a massive career and leverage that he gets to do this, he deserves it. But let's not fool ourselves on what this is
I don’t get just ignoring how effed up the start of that year was for him and having to come back from that. He was progressing as a shooter coming in from HS and seems to be picking back up on it again same types of combine and workout drills as other guys. I get the other points but mainly because he doesn’t have great height obviously for a 2 and does’t handle “yet” well enough for a 1 and may never. But IF he can make himself into a bulldog D and 3 player he’s got the body and genes and personal mental assistance from one of the all time GOATS …. tremendous lineage.
Yeah I don’t know that I agree that he shouldn’t be drafted at all. Particularly given what he was battling back from. Hes far from the first second round pick who didn’t put up eye popping numbers. The top two picks definitely didn’t blow me away with their numbers or tape if I’m being honest there. I don’t think anything crazy happened here. We just heard a lot more about the details given the names involved.

No doubt. Book it! Bronny has read it all first hand or heard it from friends .... the hate over his being picked, the definitive "he can't / will never shoot / be a legit NBA player". I doubt he'll be talking about it but he's going to have a HUGE chip on his shoulder and desire to prove them all wrong. Same thing with Dalton Knecht ..... he's even said it's been that way his whole basketball career .... and he's got one too. He embraces it. Not to mention JJ Redick the MUCH mocked choice for the Lakers to be their next coach. #FoxholesAndGrit
