So he was one of those dudes who had a late growth spurt in both high school and grew another 2-3 inches in college? This dude maybe really really good. If he was 19 he may have been #1 pick. The late growth spurt makes me a lot less worried about his age as a predictor of how good he can be.
@karacha seems to think he's the only Euro in here Or even the only slav... teaching us the correct pronounciation and what not... Either way, it's not "connect" and it's going to be the audio equivalent of an eyesore for me.
I see many here are ready to trade Austin now. I don’t get it- Austin and Knecht come with different skill sets. Are you guys just “blinded by the light?”
I'm hoping we just roll without a trade until we at least can see what we got. It is hard to base anything off what happened last season. With some type of coordinated defense they will all look better on that end as well.
I know I'm not the only one, but I just wanted to preemtively stop the "silent K" crowd, and you're absolutely right... any reporter who says "connect" should be banned from the LAL press conferences/locker room. Make some effort here. I do speak German too, BTW. So, this baffles me, because saying "Kneht" isn't hard at all. If people can pronounce "Nowitzki" correctly, they can certainly do the same with Knecht. I would understand if his name was, say, Rameshbabu Praggnanandhaa, but... it isn't.
I mean if Knecht starts, in theory Vanderbilt could remain in the starting lineup and continue to guard to Stephs and Murrays of the world. Knecht would basically replace Dlo on defense. Reaves would be the point guard on offense. Knecht could also be the microwave 6th man too though.
Did he grow or something since the combine? I'm seeing him listed at 6'5 all over the place, including the combine. He's slightly shorter than Austin and Max. This post going around, saying that he's 6-7 1/2 is definitely off. That's a solid two, bit smallish at 3. He has some talent though, judging from the couple of clips I've seen.
