Klay is close to being done. I wouldn't pay him more than 10-12mil a year but he's as delusional as Green and some other overpaid scrubs...

Klay makes too much sense to Orlando. I would be really surprised if they don't sign him. A 2y bloated contract works for Orlando that have Wagner and Ranchero in rookie contracts

DLo makes sense for them too

i mean, yes, that's the level of value i'd want back for AD, but a) we still come out on the low end because nobody in the trade has an AD ceiling and b) we're not trading AD unless lebron's also gone AND AD asks out.

Who the f*** is Casson Wallace.
AD was number one draft pick, become Olympic champion before he even played in NBA

OKC picks are garbage. They have stipulations attached to them.If I’m trading AD it’s to Orlando where you can get FRP with no attachment

Coherd makes some great points. That would be an excellent haul for the Lakers. Williams is a budding superstar, and Wallace is the precise 3 and D type guard you want next to Reaves. Then you get 4 picks? Idk if OKC would want to do this, but Lakers would probably jump on it tbh.

Lakers Nation did its ideal offseason video this morning, the key transactions were:

    • Draft Devin Carter at #17
    • Draft Bronny at #55
    • Acquire Murray in a three-team deal with ATL and BKN (sending out DLo, Rui, and the 2029 FRP, Schroder also goes to ATL along with seconds from BKN)
    • Acquire Wendell Carter from ORL for Vincent, Wood + draft compensation
    • Re-Sign Prince for 2 yrs, $5.4 million
    • Sign Jalen Smith for TPMLE
    • Sign Kriss Dunn for vet min
    Murray / Dunn / Carter
    Reaves / Christie / Bronny
    Vando / Prince / Lewis
    LeBron / Smith / Reddish
    AD / Carter / Hayes

This is their ideal offseason so the transactions are of course maybe a little more favorable to us than what is realistic. I think the return for ATL on the Murray trade is okay, but I'm skeptical we could get him without giving up the two future firsts or at least a first and a swap. The Wendell Carter trade is the weakest part for me, he had some injuries this year and his numbers are down but I don't see why they'd sell low on him right now. I doubt Devin Carter makes it to #17. The rest seems reasonable. This roster would be significantly more athletic than last year's team, and I do agree that should be a theme of the offseason.

I recall last year there was some buzz about the Lakers targeting Gordon with the MLE. I wasn’t on board with that, but was very interested in signing him for the minimum. I thought he was a great signing for the Suns at the time

Now? Absolutely not. Not even for the minimum. I feel like I saw him miss every big shot he got with the Suns even though he was often wide open. Undersized one-dimensional guard who will be 36 in December

I hope they will do some realistic versions of these. I mean, they have to both know that Carter isn't dropping to #17, right?

The big problem with this kind of speculation concerns Dlo. He has to opt in to get traded and for months he has said he will be opting out.

Well he's going to say that, I'm sure he wants to be able to opt out and sign for more than $18 million. But its far from clear whether he'll have a better offer on the table from the teams with cap space.

Right but opting out at least gives him the option and of course he can still negotiate with the Lakers for a new contract if he can't find a buyer. It's about control. I see no reason why he would opt in at this time. If he doesn't I guess we can still try to sign and trade but that's going to be harder to pull off. This is why I'm not putting much stock in getting Murray as many are hoping for. Sure, he's great, but it's probably going to take a Reaves centered trade to get him and depending on what is attached I'm not sure that's a great deal for us.
