you need to watch him play other teams, because he's pretty bad. there's a reason he fell out of the rotation and they're going to pay to dump him this summer. he's been a net negative for two years.

Dejounte will end up in NOLA or NYC. Both I think can offer more and match salaries better.

But how do we match salaries? They didn’t want Dlo. The ask was AR. Not sure what has changed.

Well yeah, Antetokounmpo is an awful GM. Every empowered decision they've let him make has been bad. I read he's is also why Ham is back there. And now they've given Doc a vote, historically that's been a very bad idea. They have a lot of needs to make it work with Dame there and they don't have the assets to fix it. Unless their 3 stay healthy, they're in the s***.

I'd keep an eye on him for next summer, when he has to take a paycut. As a BAE or TPMLE, I think there's value on a 2 year deal. But no, I have no interest in him at his current $16m.

Has to be a 3rd team...again or the inclusion of another pick sweetens it for them.

Based on stats he is Dallas version of D-lo could score 30 + points or completely disappear

I don’t think anyone thinks AR, Rui or Dlo are borderline all stars but all three have good production for their salaries. I’m not opposed to moving any of them for the right player but it has to be a deal that works for us and appeals to the other team.

Folks are saying we’ll pair up AR with Murray but then who are we trading that makes the Hawks jump at that now? Rui and Gabe? Vando and Gabe? The ask was AR.

Malik Beasley is likely to leave Milwaukee

Malik Beasley is expected to leave Bucks as a free agent.

This was reported by Bleacher Report insider Chris Haines.

Here's one I'm going to keep an eye on

RoCo. The other JJ teammate. Can play a little SF/PF/small 5. He's looked close to done, but could see it as a 12th, 13th man. Definitely a minimum guy now, he can say so long to that $12m salary he's coming off of.

Murray’s contract is only around $25 million I think so we could easily match salary without DLo and AR. Something like Rui and Gabe is enough for salary

If DLo opts in though, I think DLo on a one year expiring deal is much more palatable for Atlanta than the trade deadline DLo with an upcoming player option. Especially since Atlanta may now be pivoting towards a full rebuild

I think the ideal Murray trade would be something like DLo + JHS + #17 + 2029 unprotected FRP + a pick swap. I think that package probably still gets outbid though

I could see where the Lakers are going with the interest in Dejounte. Though he is not the best fit, he does check the boxes of quickness, defense, and athleticism next to Reaves. He also has shown some improvement in his shooting to hit the minimum threshold for effectiveness (35% on at least 2 made three-pointers per game). However, it remains to be seen if the shooting will be sustainable. Lakers would have to gamble on that. Murray is also not ball-dominant to the point where it will be completely detrimental to Austin's game. With Murray and Reaves in the backcourt, Lebron would have to be relegated to playing completely off the ball (which he has supposedly been wanting to do for a while now). All in all, a trade for Dejounte would project to be a positive thing, contingent on the Lakers adding an impactful shooter at the three. Additionally, Lakers would have to make sure they send out more money than Murray's 25.5M due to the CBA.

If Lakers are looking at an opt-in and trade with Dlo:

    • Dlo 18,692,307+ JHS 3,879,840 + Wood 3,036,040 + 2029 1st + 2028 pick swap = $25,608,187

This option puts us a hair over Murray's deal, which is perfect. This is a great deal IMO, because we are basically just trimming fat for a useful player. The only thing of significant value we are giving is the pick and pick swap.

If Dlo opts out, the deal may fall apart, unless the Hawks want to take back different players for more years:

    • Rui 17,000,000 + JHS 3,879,840 + Wood 3,036,040 + Reddish 2,463,956 + 2029 1st + 2028 pick swap = $26,379,839

^ With all that being said, we must consider what the coach wants. Supposedly, Reddick has been stated to have a preference for shooters (4 shooters, etc.) AD is obviously not a shooter. I do believe Lebron has turned himself into a legit shooter, so that box is checked. Reaves is almost there, just needs to increase his volume a bit more. Murray is a question mark. So whoever we get at the 3 needs to be a legit shooter for sure. What happens next? Do Lakers try to fill that three spot with a rookie like DaSilva? Or do swap Vandy + Hayes for a big, etc. ? Salary dump Vincent? Can we open up the full MLE and get an impactful shooter like Trent? Trent may be a little small for the three though.

I'm with abeer and starting to worry with all the shooters talk and no mention about defense. Then again he's an alleged very bright guy about basketball and just worked the NBA Finals while watching the defense being played, and same with LeBron and you'd have to think Pelinka. Not to mention seems Redick realizes he HAS to be on the same page with AD. He just has to be.

Dream scenario would be a deal around DLo + JHS for Murray, and then a deal around Rui + Gabe for Jerami Grant. Probably would require depleting most, or all, of our remaining draft capital. But might be worth it.

    Murray / CP3 / Vet Min PG
    AR / Christie / Bronny
    Grant / Prince / Reddish
    Lebron / Vando
    Davis / TPMLE Center

Although that’s probably not possible unless Lebron takes a paycut, otherwise we probably struggle to retain Christie/Prince and add a TPMLE signing within the new apron rules

Highly unlikely because the apron issues you mentioned, and the fact that Portland does not like to trade with us.

Nor is there any reason to believe that the Hawks will bite on a deal based on Dlo or that he will opt in.

Yeah I know. But they talked at the deadline, and Shams mentioned again, so there could be some smoke there. Unless they still want Reaves.

If Dlo opts out, do you think the Hawks would be willing to trade Murray for Rui, JHS, Wood, Reddish, 2029 1st, and 2028 pick swap?

A starting 5 that includes Murray and Rui is not ideal, because both prefer the mid-range jump shot over the three-pointer, which is not good for efficiency. So if the Lakers do get Murray, they have to replace Rui and Vando with some shooters.
