f***ing hell: good move by OKC and basically eliminates any change at either AC or Giddey for Lakers

    Damn, dream is over.

Great move by OKC. I think they need more shooting, but him and Dort will haunt the 2 superstars any contender has. And then you have J Dub, Shai and Chet. Scary

I get it from Chicago too. They get a promising kid that they can use for the future

ballmer was never going to allow that to happen prior to moving into the new arena

damn, that's a great trade for both teams. giddey gets a fresh start after a down season and caruso gets to play for a contender

Don’t get the consternation over Caruso. He’s a nice player but far from a difference maker. If he was a laker last year they still don’t win a championship.

We don't have a POA defender. He would defend Jamal much better and we would be much closer to beat Denver.
He's definitely a difference maker. The best +/- with LeBron when he was here.
All the stats prove he was a difference maker. White and Jrue just proved how much these type of guys influence your team's success

Caruso makes winning plays, he’s a glue guy, all heart ans hustle yet super smart. He started for us in a championship clinching game where we blew out the Heat, but sure, he’s not a difference maker. Look, Caruso has flaws, not the best scorer, injured often probably in part because he plays so hard and all out at all times like Vando, but we should never have let him walk. Had we just hung onto KCP, Caruso, and probably Kuz, and add around that, instead of panicking when we lose due to injuries, we probably continue to contend every season. Awful trade for Chicago though, Giddey’s value has to be at its absolute lowest and they couldn’t even get a pick out of this when they were rumored to want 2 firsts before? Joke of a franchise, stuff like this is why I’m not TOO hard on our FO and owner, there’s always worse out there.

He is a 1st team all-defense caliber player and turned into a very good catch and shoot 3pt shooter. Plus we could have had him for peanuts when his real value nowadays would probably be 20M+ per year.

it's one of this FO's biggest blunders ever, but they do have quite the list

Says the guy ready to give up multiple first round picks, Reaves and whatever other starting caliber rotation players (that we possess .... to make the salary work) .... for Murray, who IMO is only better at POA defense, not "all aspects inclusive" on offense than Reaves in year 3 only?

No kidding. Call it weird or whatever, but that may have been the most furious I've ever been with management. It wasn't a monster deal that had huge ramifications, it wasn't not taking the best deal in a trade, etc. This was a slam dunk, sign the guy situation and they even dropped that ball. And it didn't take a big financial commitment. Infuriating.

He was more than just a monster defender. He was the fan favorite, hype guy of the team. You can't just replace that. He still gets huge ovations checking in at Crypto. Monumental screw up.

He is an absolute difference maker that you can throw at every elite point guard we always get burned by.

It makes it even worse that by letting Caruso go, we ended up wasting 2 MLE contracts on both Kendrick Nunn and Gabe Vincent to make up for it.

If we just kept Caruso instead, we could have used those 2 MLE contracts instead to address other needs like a actual long term backup center and a rotational wing defender… but instead here we are, trying to include Gabe in trades.

Absolutely bonkers that Caruso wouldn't have been a difference maker - he would have been playing close to 40mpg against Denver the last 2 years. He's a great rebounder, fast break finisher, cutter as well so even if his shot is off you can't ignore him on offense.

It would have been AD/Lebron/Rui/AC/Reaves to finish with AC being put on Murray on defense and you would have no one smaller then 6'5 with much better rebounding.

highway robbery. giddey isn't good, imo. like, he could be in europe soon.

    exactly.

though that last part--what's worse? trading caruso for meh or just letting him walk for absolutely no reason at all?

if we traded caruso for giddey, i'd be pissed...but less pissed.

how do i keep getting furious about caruso every few weeks?!
