I remember being so bummed, but as everyone left the room, I stayed and watched the most incredible finish I have ever seen in a game 7. Super awesome, and that Portland team was no joke. That was the championship that year IMHO.

I know 2010 was special because we got the revenge against those guys, but 09 might even be my favorite Kobe title after the journey from 04 with Shaq and Phil leaving, with him almost leaving and the painfull years afterwards. Almost beating Phoenix in the first round, only to lose again against them even after beeing up 3-1. The hope of maybe getting to Contender status with Bynum shortly beeing better than Dwight Howard and then finally aquiring Pau. Also the first one without Shaq of course. Just a nice journey from the top down and back to the top again.

If Kobe had a son, does anyone think he would have told the Lakers to draft him if he wasn't good enough? I miss him being the face of the franchise.

Man .... where the heck is the rest of it?!!! I came across that story of his equally impressive workout for the Clippers a couple years ago and shared it here. In it they said the tape of it disappeared, probably with one of the staff.

No way he finishes out his career without playing for Kobe's team at some point.

In the next 9 years, I'll go as high as 70% likelihood with that prediction.

Yeah I think it can happen. Don't love it to be honest. But we could do worse

Hopefully we can get him with a couple of prime years left.

I find it funny that when Arash covered the Flippers for all those years, he was unhealthy and overweight. Now that he’s switched to the Lakers, he dropped it all.

after signing the extension, he spoke of finishing his career in boston. and yeah, things can change, but tbh...he's not that guy. they won with an ensemble cast a la the 2004 pistons. and there's no shame in that! it's great, actually! but tatum's not a #1 foundation piece like luka, jokic, giannis (maybe ant joins this group soon).

anyway, i'd welcome him, but a) don't think it's happening soon, and b) if it did, it's not like picking up lebron in 2018.
