So we don't fill other threads with Finals discussion. Who do you want to win, and why is the only right answer the Mavs? Do the Mavs have a legit shot? Best offensive backcourt (Mavs) vs. a strong defensive backcourt (C Bags) If the C Bags win, it's a tragedy. If the Mavs win it's back to back for Slovenian stars.
Jokic is not Slovenian As for the Finals... we'll be trailing C Bags again and i won't live long enough to see us catch them. That being said, go Luka, go Mavs!
i'll legit be sad if boston wins. all those years it took to catch up and tie them only for them to go one ahead on the easiest finals run in recent memory
Serbia , Slovenia who cares. Same Yougoslavia, different country Go Kyrie. The Earth is flat .I can prove it
Way more than I thought are picking Dallas to upset! Bleacher report, CBS talking heads etc etc. skip is picking Dallas
Has been way too much anointing of the C Bags pre-maturely. Unless injuries derail Dallas it should be a great series. Current Luka + Kyrie >>> current LeBron + Kyrie. Captain Obvious
Dallas have the best player in the series (and 3rd best probably) but C Bags were no.1 offensive and no.2 defensive team for a reason. Both Tatum and Brown looked great against Dallas in the RS Kyrie hates the C Bags though, he might go off
Just kidding, obviously. Always rooting for the Balkan Boys. In this case, that's Luka. Also Kyrie is showing that he is still one of the meanest, clutchest playoff performers in the NBA. Mavs have the best player on the floor. Boston has the better team, but they also have a reputation for underperforming on the big stage. Also, they have not been tested so far... at all. Realistically 60-65% that Boston will win, but I would not be totally surprised to see them lose. So, we'll go with the
It's a Dallas year.Everything is going according to script The Dallas Mavericks are the first team to beat three 50-win teams en route to the Finals since the 2010 Lakers The Mavs beat the 51-win Clippers (though without Kawhi), 57-win Thunder, and 56-win Wolves on their way to the Finals. The last time a team beat three 50-win teams within their own conference was the Lakers in 2010, who also happened to face a C Bags in the Finals
For comparison, the Jokic-era Nuggets have not beaten a single 50-win team in the playoffs, and only two if you're generous and give them shortened season records (2020 Jazz and Clippers were on pace for 50). Giannis' Bucks have beaten one 50-win team (the 2021 Suns).Embiid's 76ers have not beaten a single one and Luka has as many wins against 50-win teams as the last 6 MVPs combined. Go ,Mavs
And Shaq talks about Luka https://x.com/NBAonTNT/status/1796388219916812334 During this playoffs, I managed to take a closer look at Doncic watch him live, sitting next to the site. He was bigger and stronger than I thought. Closer to the ring, he can play as « big », does what he wants. He is calm, nothing can bring him out of balance, he has long been playing on a professional level, like a 30-year-old.
I’ve seen enough from Luka during this run to believe he can down the C Bags. Kyrie looks like he did during his Chip with LeBron and their bigs, Lively, Washington and Gafford have been great too. If Porgy can come back and be at 90%, Boston will be really tough. It all comes down to if Luka and Kyrie’s offense can be better than Tatum and Brown’s defense. Dallas in 7.
