Would be pretty annoying if we deliberately stall the coaching search and act like we’re still doing due diligence, if we’re actually just waiting on JJ’s ESPN situation.

If JJ is the guy, announce it soon and figure out a way to get him out of his ESPN obligations so he can get to work on draft/FA prep.

Also, if JJ is the hire and anybody even says the words “Pat Riley” during his opening press conference, that should be grounds to immediately fire whoever says it

Have we heard anything about Adelman since the Nuggets got eliminated? Seems like JJ is inevitable, but I'll be disappointed if Adelman never gets real consideration.

I don't get why the ESPN/ABC job is seen as this obstacle that will prevent him from being involved with us at all.

OK, if they want him to finish out the playoffs, I get that. But we should be able to hire him and start having planning zooms and daily 3 hour conversations and continuous texts with him while he's juggling the other. 1) he's doing multiple pods while announcing, I think he can figure out the balance. 2) it gives ESPN content. It's a topic they can cover each game with him that will get more social attention than anything else any of those 3 say during any game.

He'll have a quick turnaround and some catching up to do. But if he's hired and has to finish their assignment first, I don't think it would be like NBA free agency where he's shunned from talking to his new bosses.

wouldn't be a good fit for this current roster. he's a lot like vogel in that he's a solid defensive coach but his offensive schemes leave a lot to be desired

yeah, seems to me that this is good for network business--our analysts keep getting hired as coaches!

yeah, i'm getting super annoyed with lebron distancing himself from the coaching search.

again, no hourglass emojis from folks who want to be left out of FO decisions. you either want a voice or you don't. lame.

one of our only reputable assistants.

Why should Ham be in a hurry to get another gig?

Perhaps JJ Redick really isn't, Lebron's pick either? I'm having doubts, that he's at the top of AD'S list. It's something going on here, I'm not entirely sure what, but this coaching hire situation, is a bit strange.

I could see it with Ham, and like Slick said above, why would he be in any hurry anyway. Plus certainly from his perspective he thinks he wasn’t fired for good reason and still wants to pop up again as a head coach again. Looks at Vogel.

What I am surprised about though is we haven’t heard anything about Handy being snapped up. It gives me at least a little hope that he WAS told on his exit they had to do it for the appearances and fairness but the new coach if he wants can hire him right back. Is that right LeBron? ;) And “if” Handy even wants to come back. I’d really honestly be surprised if that was the case and him actually being here again.

unless its with a desperate team like detroit or washington, ham isn't getting another HC gig

Ham in a hurry to get a job? He will be lucky if he ever even gets a real interview, let alone another job.
