Some real turds over there. Most of us would agree that getting Anderson would be an absolute steal of a trade, but at the same time, that's the ONLY thing the Mavs have that isn't straight garbage. Some of their ideas were for us to take Felton (EL OH EL), get involved in a 3 way trade with the Pacers and us giving up Lin to them for nothing. Logic being that we are getting Hibbert, so everyone gets what they want. WE ARE GETTING HIBBERT WITHOUT YOU GUYS DUFUS.

We are in such a great position with this because we by all means have no reason to just give Lin to Dallas or help them out. If they want Lin so bad, they can fork over Anderson or get us some assets from somewhere else.

Mitch isn't getting played in trades.

Who is that anderson, was he rookie,he obviously didnt play to much couse i have no idea who he is.
But i see lots of you are prety high on him...
Which means i want him too then, couse i dont believe we had any plans to bring lin back with russel.
I just hope this might turn in similar style as sas-ind trade, they desperatly needed stop the gap player to contend and they gave promising young guy who turned to be 10 times better player than hill...
I hope we might get lucky too.

That is the hurtful hurtful truth :D

You're right, the only asset they have is Anderson which is quite sad. I realized how fortunate we really are, because Anderson is roughly the equivalent of A.Brown or Lance Jr. in terms of value right? We've got D'Angelo, Randle, Clarkson, and Black on top of all that. A team full of gems.

To be honest, I only want Anderson to audition him against A.Brown and decide who to keep as our future SF :giggle:

He was the 4th or 5th ranked SF prospect in this year's draft class, behind Stan Johnson, Winslow, Oubre, and possibly RHJ. We got the 6th ranked SF prospect in A.Brown, who is possibly the best shooter of the entire draft class.

In other words, he's an asset that should be expendable for a starting PG (Lin)

No. But let's be honest: he can't truly defend any of the younger guys anymore. It's better for him to try and muscle people up at this point and use his experience and strength, then let smaller guys break his ankles instead.

Anderson is a SF prospect from the University of Virginia that many of us hoped would fall to us at the number 27 pick. He is good on both ends of the floor and would be a great get.

The thing with Anderson, from a Dallas perspective, is that he COULD (though unlikely he will) become Jimmy Buckets. He has that skillset. Why would you move him?

It's kind of reminiscent of the discussions on here about including Randle in a move for Cousins or LMA S&T. Randle COULD (though still less likely) become the next Barkley. Yeah, DMC or LMA would be better, surer things now, but why pass on that potential.

Time to play hardball with Dallas. It's Anderson and a future 1st for a S&T with Lin, nothing less. Given the endless public bashing Cuban dished out on us in the past, it's time to royally drill him in all 6 holes

I like this violent method going forward.

Mitch should send a lock of hair from Cubans wife / Gf to him.

Depends on Nick a bit. 33-44? Maybe 45 if things go exceedingly well.

I feel that getting into the playoffs would be next case scenario for next years FA.

Much easier to have players come on board when you increase perceived value of the team

If we can somehow get something for Lin...wow what a trade by Mitch last year. Took on Lin and got another 1st, and now potentially more.

Hold up.. I understand the frustration.. not landing big free agents... but let's be honest.. when was the last time a top free agent signed with us for a lucrative contract.. that was Shaq... we traded or drafted everyone else even Kareem .. Wilt.. Gasol.. Howard was the only one who left.. so before we get caught up in today's social media generation of everyone hates LA.. or Lakers are incompetent. . Let's take a breath.. it's not what we do.. either they want to be here or they don't. . Honestly I like that policy. . Let them guys walk.. look what all the free agents have done since declining us

    That's not the point Darth.

The point is that our pitches aren't resonating with FAs because they're outdated. They need updating and adjusting and we need a stronger presence in the room than limp fishes like Mitch and Jim. We need a commanding presence in the meeting that's still welcoming. We need Dr. Buss. That's all some of us are saying.

They're stuck though. They really NEED a point guard and Lin might be the best fit for them on the open market. Lin is a better player right now than Anderson and he fits into the team concept they're trying to build. Would they rather have Aaron Brooks or Jeremy Lin?... If it only costs you a mid-20s rookie, is it worth it to get stubborn? We are the ONLY way they get who they want. Even if they dump Felton, they won't have enough room to give Lin the kind of contract he wants/needs/deserves.

There's a lot of acrobatics that could happen here but what they could do is send Felton to Philadelphia for a cheese steak. Then get into a 3-way Sign and Trade:

Pacers in: Ryan Kelly, Nick Young, Future 2nd (Dallas), Ater Majok
    Dallas in: Jeremy Lin
Lakers in: Roy Hibbert and Justin Anderson

In my mind, we win the trade pretty well but Pacers get a good return for a guy they don't want and Dallas gets their man.
