I would sign off, on a D'Angelo/Rui centered trade, for Murray and Capela. If the Hawks are intent on moving Young, draft picks and decent rotation players, aren't bad things to try and accumulate.

Trae can bring in more drat picks and decent players/prospects too. The Hawks could reboot, get some future picks, and still be a fringe playoffs contender in the East.

That's not some sexy blockbuster type of trade, but it would make our roster more balanced around Lebron and AD.

Anyway..right now tho, We got plenty of good looks last night. We already knew that D'Angelo, Austin and Rui, were going to have to knock down some shots.
Nothing has changed, hopefully D'Angelo gets it going in the next game.

He got off 20 attempts, he only had 31 for the entire series last season. So.. If he goes out, and keeps gunning, he's bound to catch fire at some point. Bottom line, if Russell goes 4/9 from deep, instead of 1-9, that's a different game last night.

Orlando could definitely use him. I'm also in favor of weakening Sacramento.

hmmm...sac has huerter (whom they can't trade easily) and keon ellis (who filled in pretty well) at monk's spot. they also have duarte as a third stringer. if they sign monk to the contract suggested, they'll be right up against the luxury tax for the same team that just got bounced in the play-in.

there's also the question of whether monk is really worth 20 per. he's still a minus defender, and he's still not super consistent offensively. i suppose 20 million per is about the going rate for a sixth man, though.

it would behoove the kings to s&t him, though, imo.

1000%. I'd even do drop offs and pickups at Hartsfield Airport for all parties involved. But Hawks didn't want DLO and they're not going to want him this summer, meaning a 3 team deal which is even trickier to maneuver with DLO's contract situation.

But If I'm talking to Atlanta, I agree those are the two I want in return.

Another problem is Murray might be the hotter commodity this summer

i think helin's right, and i think young would be substantially cheaper in trade than would murray. he's not a lavine "we need to pay to get off him" type, but he's also not a "you better give me all your firsts and a two starters" type.

again, ingram for young straight up makes a lot of sense to me for both teams.

utah is supposedly star hunting and has the cash to absorb young, plus could chuck some vanity FRPs for atlanta to save face.

    same with SA.

i also agree that you can build a very good offense around young, but building a contender around him is a different story.

I think after Boston's run to the finals, teams are going to be looking for a Holiday type and probably the most gettable will be Murray so that'll drive cost.

It'll be interesting with Trae. How many 25 year old faces of the franchise hit the market and don't go for the farm? Him being a household name who can sell a few tickets and give you nationwide interest is more valuable to these small market teams than his on the court play. The fact that they'd be trading who they traded Luka for has to factor in to the price if they want to avoid the media shaming, even if it's a different regime.

NO is a good fit because they have a lot of young, long defensive minded wings that off set his limitations there. They need a better defensive big man or Zion to stay engaged throughout the 82, not just the play in vs the Lakers.

I think SA would be the best long term fit if he's going to be on a contender at any point. Wemby is the ultimate eraser defensively with the length. Sochan will be much more impactful when they end that PG experiment. Trae is young enough to grow with that young core, I had to double check his age because it seems like there's no way he's only 25 (i know he came in with Luka but seems like he's been around longer).

this is why i think it will be name for name. ingram's not as big a name, but he's been an allstar and is still young.

but i could still see the haul of picks and getting off salary angle, too. fans eat that stuff up, despite its generally poor returns.

i feel like they don't have great options. zion hasn't kept himself in shape or healthy for most of his early career, so it's hard to predict that he will suddenly do it. but they can't risk that they trade him and he pulls it together. so him, young, two athletic wings who defend in jones/murphy, cj as a bench scorer/6moy, and a center should be a playoff team. and NO would love young, imo.

it definitely makes sense, and he's from texas. i don't know that they get a better player than him in FA, and nobody will demand a trade there even with wemby, imo (nobody has demanded to go to denver, dallas, or milwaukee, for example).

    C Bags made 22 3's , Tatum got triple double ...

In Clippers -Dallas game Mavs are 11.1% from 3 and 12 misses in a row.And they scored 8 points in a quarter.Must be some kind of record for playoffs game

Why would DLo do that? He can choose to go wherever he wants to.

Unless DLO turns it around here in the playoffs I just don’t see his trade value being any better than it was at the trade deadline.

He'll be salary filler in another trade that will include other pieces and picks. Think we'll have 3 firsts? (is that right if NO swaps this year with us) 5 second round picks, right? We'll have Russell's contract if he decides to opt in (we''ll just say $20 million for a round number), Hachimura ($16 million), Vando's contract (kicks in @ 12 million) Reaves ($12 million) Vincent ($11 million), & JHS ($5 million).

These aren't exact numbers, but while we think our players don't have any value, these are all (with the exception of JHS) known commodities who can contribute in the NBA. Yes, they all have their warts, but you'll know what you'll be getting for the most part along with our sought after draft picks.

We might not think it's much, but I think we have enough to assets to land another impact piece, and my hope is a star piece moving forward.

I'm not making any lateral moves, I'm not moving pieces, I'm not doing anything like that. Go get me a star.

That's just me, though. Understand people who want to make a couple of moves here and there for a big man or another 2 way guard. I get it, but that just isn't me. LeBron will be 40 this summer. It's time to make a splash.

    All, IMO.

lots of teams have been gathering assets for stars and can outbid us easily

I really can't see us getting anything else other than a star no one else wants like Trae, or maybe circling back on a minor star like Dejounte Murray if the Hawks decide to blow it up.
