Only chance is if he REALLY likes being a Laker and Rob promises to pay him more every chance we get. Rob's not a Morey, nor is Jeanie. I think if they say they'll pay you in a wink and nod deal, they'll hold up their end. Also how the DLO situation play out, that could entice him. If DLO leaves for more money, a big opportunity opens up for Dinwiddie. I don't want to lose DLO and if he walks without us getting anything in return, that hurts. BUT I'd even prefer losing DLO and inserting Dinwiddie into his role opposed to giving up anything for Trae.
Keep this man. He's been so big for us defensively it's insane. he also had a HUGE 3 in OT! He's just a gamer...he does not get nervous in big moments.
This has been a fantastic pickup, just huge. I don’t even care if he’s scoring or not, he’s out there doing all the dirty work, playing defense, setting hard screens and just generally being physical directing things and opening things up on the offensive end. He’s clutch too, if anything, and if Vincent can come back, they are both insurance should we make the playoffs and DLo has a bad game, they’re both gamers.
he seems more than willing to give the team whatever they need on a per game basis. Having an unselfish player that is very capable and happy to be here is quite refreshing. He is filling a needed role every single night.
Couple heads up steals. And as posted in the DLO thread, got some extra burn on his bday cause DLO told Ham to keep him in in the 4th.
Dinwiddie I thought be one of those heat check Vernon Maxwell types instead. Instead he's turned into this POA defender who does the little things. Totally bizarre compared to his rep
can't remember which thread i was talking about this in, but i could totally see the FO not matching a rich dlo offer and using the wiggle room to offer full MLE to dinwiddie with a player option. i think we'd gain early bird rights, with the possibility of going to 175% of his salary the following season.
Surprised is not the word with me considering how well DLO has been scoring, AR not as consistently of late and Spencer only really that one game he started. https://x.com/labound2/status/1776740927433830743?s=46&t=VpASWooOp-c0BfbMzXjnIw Seriously? What’s the sample size and how can that even be?
Dinwiddie missed a bunny and a corner 3 that would have made the game interesting again but man what a pickup. Again where was this rep of him doing whatever the team needs - picks up the scoring if a guy is out, if everyone healthy focuses on D and being a facilitator. I think people who only watch boxscore are going to be bit shocked how a healthy Laker team does with Dinwiddie
I wonder how we are going to afford to bring him back with the “star” chasing this summer? He will sign elsewhere since he will be an asset to any team.
