18 3s made in the FIRST HALF by MIL. 82 points at the break. That...will get it done. (It's also a one-off freak for them.)
DVR'ed this game to watch later, but SPOILER ALERT: Kyrie with a morbidly ill buzzer-beater to win it:
lol, that kyrie game winner is insane. almost a mockery. that he threw it in over jokic is hilarious, as it's something ol' horseguy would pull.
TONIGHT Hawks vs Lakers Knicks vs GS Grizz vs Kings Time to start rooting for the Kings. Don't want them falling in the play in.
Knicks came through for us and beat GSW on the road. Thibs has NYK's D working on all cylinders. They gave up 112 to GSW, but in their previous games, going back, in order: 91 to SAC in a win on the road; 93 to POR in win on the road; 79 to PHI; 73 to PHI; 74 to ORL. We don't play again until FRI. Until then we'd like to see: TUE: Spurs beat DAL in SA (tomorrow)(fat chance). WED: Raptors eek out a home win vs. SAC MEM go into SF and beat GSW 76ers beat up on Grayson Allen and PHO (If any of these games go our way, I'd guess MEM, if only because GSW has a losing record at home this season, for reasons no one knows.) THUR: SAC will play the NBA-worst Wiz and it doesn't look promising for us. Jazz goes into DAL, and I'm not holding my breath on this one, either. ATL goes into PHO and after I saw the Lakers walk all over the Hawks, this, too looks like it has a snowball's chance in hell it will go our way. Still: you'd think there'd be an upset here or there before Fri. Oh yea: if we want 10th place, we have to hope HOU doesn't go on a winning streak here at the end of the season, too. The forecast for the rest of the season: DARK, with very brief periods of light that are quickly eaten by terminal cold darkness. Also: small craft advisories.
Lakers and Warriors will both finish with 37 or 38 losses , it's going to be an one game difference for the 9th spot imo.
I don’t even know what I want to happen tbh. I don’t believe we can beat Denver, so part of me wants us to get bounced so Porkchop is 100% gone.
i'd like for us to have taken the first half of the season seriously and been in position to beat minny in the 3/6 matchup? in terms of reality, i don't know. part of me worries that the house cleaning wouldn't end with ham and we could get ourselves westbrook-ed again this offseason. if that's in the offing, i'd probably rather sneak into the playoffs and have a competitive round 1 series (that we probably lose). i think that still ends up with ham fired, but might not result in a westbrook.
There's 12 games to go, we can win any. No reason for us not to win at least 9. Just our absurd inconsistency. Phoenix is not in a good moment, I'm still confident on a top 8 finish. It will be unlucky to pair with Sac but we might have Vando and/or Cam back who can help defend Fox/Monk. Hopefully we would put LeBron on Sabonis and increase our chances
A quick look at our schedule with some predictions. PHI = W IND = W @MIL = L @MEM = W @IND = L @BKN = W @TOR = W @WAS = W CLE = W MIN = L GS = W (Must win. But then again, pretty much all are) @MEM = W @NO = L Fair estimate is 9-4. That however doesn't take into account back to backs and possible injuries to more players. It's also predicting we take care of business at home for the most part. It's tough to predict a win against Cleveland. It's the first game of a back to back with the Twolves up next so it's important we get that win. NO might possibly be a win if they are locked into their seed and resting players but if not, it's hard to see us winning on the road. The team HAS to take care of business and has zero margin for error. Brutal losses to the Kings and Warriors have made it seem impossible to move up to 8th. We essentially need Phoenix or Dallas to collapse and to hold off GS. It's looking like we miss the playoffs this year.
Suns have 4 straight games they should win. Then it gets really tough @DEN @OKC @NOP CLE MIN NOP LAC @LAC @SAC @MIN Our best chance at getting the 8th seed is the Suns. We hold the tie breaker.
I'd started thinking that I preferred to just lose in the play-in to end this stupid season. But for as frustrating and inconsistent as this team has been...OKC is back in the #1 spot. IF we could somehow manage to win two play-in games and end up in the half of the bracket with OKC in the first round and the winner of Clippers/Pelicans in the second round...
They're showing signs of poor chemistry. They're 8-8 with all 3 together. They've the worst team in the league in the 4th quarter, which is insane considering their big 3. It ain't working and hopefully they'll collapse. We just gotta do our job. We have no excuses to lose any match, we just have to go get it
bkn/tor/was in a row on the road is ripe for a disappointing loss, imo. the gs game will essentially be the first of two play-in games against them. curious to see if phx uses the 4 easy wins to ramp up and finish stronger than expected against top teams. unless there are injuries to some of the play-in teams, i'd expect this.
