Slowly morphing into the Lakers of MPJ: MPJ is a better rebounder and better movement shooter, Rui has more of a 1v1/post up game but they play very similar roles for the respective teams. Combination of shooting/size/ahtleticism Floor spacing: not only can they hit the shots but their size makes it hard to contest Size: they will finish over the top or just go mouse in the house if you go small against them Neither great defenders and they are taken out against some matchups but just having a big dude whose athletic helps your D.
We're 10-3 since Rui has entered the starting lineup alongside DLO Reaves LeBron and AD He is doing what I thougth he would do when we re-signed him. I think he has another level and I'm starting to see that come out right now. Rui is important for this team, and if he's continuing to hit those 3's, he's going to be very lethal for us in the playoffs. His splits are 13/4/1/1 on 52/41/71 splits. I'd like to see the rebounds go up a bit more, and the FT shooting % to improve as well. He's a career 76% ft shooter, so he has room to go up there. 41% from 3 though is very nice and funny enough, it's on the most attempts of his career so volume went up and his percentages went up along with it.
C'mon Rui .... a little more effort you could have tea bagged ANT like Kobe did Dwight and ANT tried to posterize AD.
Rui was very very good against the Bucks. Did well on both defense and offense. Shot good shots, aggressive in a good way. Can't really ask more from him
Ham needs to stop benching him in critical moments...like I get it Prince was playing OK in the 4th but no need to overplay Prince once the comeback was complete...glad Ham put Rui back in tho for both overtimes. He was HUGE on both ends.
This cat needs to stay a Laker too. Big, strong, athletic, skilled and not yet scratched his ceiling IMO. He's a guy when LeBron's out that is fairly safe to say now IS Kawhi lite on offense. Get the ball to him and ask him to score ... more and more often he is capable of getting that done. Works on D and would think he has further upside there too.
idk why everyone keeps talking about Rui on D...he's been fine and he's been much better than last season he just needs to be playing consistent minutes and stop getting benched in the 4th. He's very important fro our team and it's no coincidence that we've been a different team with him
Huge game from him. Props to Ham for going back to him in OT, Rui was ready for the moment. Legs were a bit fresher than everyone else on the court at that point too, that helped. Favorite defensive play of his on the night. You know how strong you have to be to successfully battle with Antetokounmpo? This sequence was impressive too. Really locked in defensively last night. Bucks have wings in the size range that Rui does well against. Then offensively, watching him win with his footwork and pull off a series of moves never gets old
