I think he can be IF he's already in a groove. Like I said above, I think he has to be comfortable first and maybe a little more selfish offensively and then you can go park him in the corner. But right off the bench, which is foreign territory to him, nope. A real coach would understand that.
They need to let him cook. Frustrating that Ham doesn't like to target perimeter iso guys like Curry and Booker. Id force them into PnR situations and let the Lakers 3 guards attack them. Lakers have three really good offensive guards on the PnR use them to wear out the other guys star guards
I blame Ham. Spencer will be gone next season and he'll avg. 12-15 for any team that he'll sign with... just watch.
Prince should never get 2x the amount of shots as Dinwiddie. Spencer can heat up and drop 30, TP cannot. When he's comfortable, I want him taking the aggressive approach DLO has leaned into especially when he's leading the bench units.
there's a lot of "fitting out" necessary when you play with lebron and AD. reaves has gotten it from the jump. dlo has found his way there. dinwiddie will get there, i think. it's not like he's been shy at any stop in his career. probably just feeling it out still.
Advice I actually agree on Ham with. Broken clock, 2x a day kinda thing I guess. Guess he learned from the DLO situation and is parroting what he told him to do.
As the season goes longer, you need to be stronger who wants to slap him in the back of the head ala MJ on Monk?
Dinwiddie has to make shots period. He’s been a NBA rotation player, for most of his career. He's gotta knock down those open looks.
7 & 6 in 20 minutes on 3/6 FGs. Liked what he brought tonight. Really good point guard decisions. Nice chemistry with AD on 3 connections (I think). Drives to the basket looked good, made the right read. Request: More driving, fewer 3s at least until you get going.
I felt like Dinwiddie was finding his game again tonight and it was good to see him get some groove. I don’t like the three guard lineups though. Ham needs to stop with that.
He threw the ball away once and then there was that early-in-the-clock 3 that bricked. I yelled at the TV, "What are you doing?" and AD was even shaking his head. That said, I'm still liking the addition of Spencer.
He’s a better passer than I thought. We need him to steadily improve on offense from now until the play-in or playoffs.
Nice to see the 3 ball fall for him, even got a 4 point play out of it. Less distribution, but still like the reads he's making. Great last line. He's not afraid of those lights. Some are.
Wish the Lakers had another chance against Denver in a few weeks after Spencer acclimates. He really makes sense as the 5th guy in the lineup which they've been missing against Denver. I'm really surprised how well he can play D when he's focused. He's stronger and the athleticism really helps vs Dlo/Reaves plus you just can't play off of him
Really impressed with what he brought on defense. Don't think he'll get enough credit in this one because his stats weren't that impressive. Only one made basket but was a game high +35 in this one. Hell of a sequence All effort
