It's that time. Only 26 left and each one is going to matter. Going to need those ahead of us to start dropping in the standings, too. For today: Currently 9th with 30 wins/26 losses.
"If we went into the playoffs as a tenth seed, and we won the championship, would that make me the greatest player ever? If so, let's do that!" --Lebron (Probably)
not an auspicious start, but i'm not surprised without lebron. i'm guessing no team above us is going to help us by losing, but if i had to pick it would be NO (due to potential injury) or sac (because i don't care how long they win 60% of their games i still don't believe!). we've looked better lately, but gs and dallas have looked even better than that.
I will honestly have a better feel for where we end up after we play the Clippers and Nuggets in the coming weeks.
2/6 on the WC games last night. Still 9th. 3 games out of 8th. Only .5 games ahead of 10th seed GS Tonight:
It certainly feels like we are stuck in 9th or headed for tenth at this rate. We have too much ground to cover. Thanks Ham.
Last year the seas parted for us a bit with Jazz, Mavs and Blazers quitting after the trade deadline and the Pelicans being super injured as usual. Doesn't look like that's going to happen this year. Dallas looks great. The Pelicans are still weird but they've won 4 in a row and are +4.5 in net rating on the year. They're solid. The Suns lost last night and Beal is injured again but they're 7-3 in their last 10 and win at a high clip when they actually have all three guys. They're 3.5 games up on us, it might take injuries to catch them. Sacramento is thoroughly mediocre but keeps pulling out games at the end. They're only +0.6 net rating on the year but are 32-23. We need to get to 7th or 8th, I don't like our chances of winning two games just to make it in. We can catch Sacramento but there is so little room for error.
With a League Average Coach, we would be sitting at least at 6th or 7th, even with the same amount of injuries. SMH.
With competent coaching rotations (ie starting Rui from day one along with Dlo, Reaves, Lebron and AD) I am absolutely convinced that we would be in 5th place currently. That would only constitute 4 more wins than what we have now. It was the rational thing to do since it would have preserved our continuity and chemistry from last year. Sure Vando would have been great to have for his D, but given that he was out it should have been Rui as we've seen in our current run.
Yeah man. Who knows? We have all seen how great team chemistry can affect a team, and how the opposite craters it. With all the shuffling around, no defined roles, and several players not rewarded for playing well, a lot of guys were pissed off for a large portion of the season. It’s impossible to predict just how good we could have been.
IDK..it's been a lot of stuff going on besides injuries, and rotations. Klay Thompson said that the team chemistry is overrated. He's won a lot of games, and a few chips in his career. Lebron has a history, of throwing his teammates under the bus. Openly campaigning to make trades, can kill team chemistry too. He's also won a lot of games and a few chips. Sometimes role players get pissed off, and most of the time, the superstars don't care about their feelings. Like Klay said, winning games doesn't require, everyone being happy about their individual situation. If guys want to be on this team next season, they are going to have to step up in the minutes they are getting. Losing will have consequences for everybody, from the coaching staff, down to the last guy on the bench. I'm looking forward to this home stand, I want to see who really wants it.
It's hard to gauge at the moment..all the teams in the playoffs chase, besides the current top 4 seeds, have to keep winning in order to keep pace, everyone won't. Winning head to head tiebreakers is going to be important.
Coming from a guy who's had the same core and same coach (basically) his entire career. Sorry, he's not qualified to speak on the matter.
3/5 isn't bad. Still 9th. 2.5 out of 8th. .5 games ahead of 10th. Nothing really going tonight. Minny plays the Nets, OKC could have a better record than Minny if Nets win. So depending on who you'd rather face in a 1 v 8 matchup, root accordingly.
The Flippers and Nuggets are 1.5 games out of 1st too. They could very well be the top 2 seeds by April. I'd rather avoid those two in the 1st rd over Minn or OKC.
4/7, but our loss basically counts 2x given the matchup. Still 9th 3 games out of 8th Only .5 game lead on 10th
