Yeah it was a good fit and decision for Monroe. Same goes for LMA, DJ, and Chandler. It really has nothing to do with our front office's incompetence.

I'm so glad we pulled through with Hibbert. For the way our team is currently constructed, I prefer Hibbert over LMA, Monroe or RoLo. Truthfully, DJ is the only FA I really coveted.

But, many on here (not accusing you) took the media's perspective hook, line and sinker. Many were calling the Lakers FO completely incompetent, useless, out of touch, etc. and wanted Mitch's head. I don't trust the media at all. Falk could have limited his comments but chose to say that it had nothing to do with the presentation. Maybe Falk said that because it would win brownie points with the Lakers FO, or maybe it is the truth.

I saw that and thought that would be a nice pickup if the Lakers could swing it.

Williams would be a good, calming locker room presence as a back-up point guard. He could be the "good cop" to 24's "bad cop" stature. Oh and Williams can still shoot the rock from the perimeter.

This is the guy I really want. KJ McDaniels is a straight up stud. Getting Roy Hibbert and a shooter like Mo Williams or re-signing Ellington is a nice rebound from the last two years disappointments.

We should throw 3 years 12-15 millions for him and dare Houston to match

He's extremely undersized for a forward position. He's more of a SG.

6'6 205lbs. One inch taller than our PGs.

Never mind, I just looked up the SF's from our division and majority of them are 6'6. Guess it's hard finding a 6'8-6'9 guy these days

Reminds me of Shannon Brown. Guess if he didn't leave the bench in Hou, we'd have a decent shot of nabbing him.

    Aha. OK.

This is the kind of move I was talking about. Low risk, high reward.

    1. good guy, not a bad locker-room presence
    2. talented, without a doubt
    3. gets to play with people who should be able to easily improve his usage rate (Kobe, JC, probably DAR as well)
    4. doesn't require to trade any of our young guys
    5. should give Bob (Imma call Upshaw - Bob) plenty of training, if he works out
    6. 1 year, and bird rights? What's not to like? KD coming to a team with possibly, if we have some luck, stud C, stud PF and stud PG?

In short - you should all be ashamed for not trusting Mitch :):)

Pretty much how I feel, but we're not allowed to relax until our roster is better than the Knicks :D

Trading and drafting - Yes I do trust him (Outside of his Nash trade with his pick protection blunder)
Free Agency* - Nope, no, nada, don't trust the guy or the rest of the FO when it comes to sealing the deal on top tier talent.

*When it comes to find bargain bin players he's done a real good job. (But we don't seem keen on keeping them)

You're right. It wasn't me. I was always saying "leaks" are nothing of the kind. "League Sources" are GM's and Agents using the media.

If you think about it there is big money to me made on clicks, eyeballs and TV surrounding all of this supposed classified information. That's what makes me think it's never intended to be either accurate or classified.

I will keep my opinion on the front office as a negative until I see them try to better the team long term in an Free Agency period. This wasn't a FA signing and it isn't intended to be longer than a year. If he turns it around then we can bring him back as a piece but I'm not sure that is the plan.

I said it in another thread: When we are chasing a youngster who isn't an established franchise player at 9pm on FA opening day instead of having dinner with the top FA I'll believe these guys are looking to build piece by piece. They want a new face of the franchise and seem willing to just keep kicking the can down the road until one bites.

Doesn't really matter if it's through the draft, a trade, or free agency. As long as it makes us better Mitch is doing his job.

You (and possibly me too) just have unrealistic expectations, IMO.

Let's analyze this realistically, who did we pass on, that we should have gone after, instead of DJ, LA and Monroe?

Mitch, Ryan and the group must know something we don't. For example they are willing, within that "develop young guys" movement
we all seem to like, to trust Young/Kobe/Nance/Brown/Randle/Black rotation at SF/PF. We have SG/PG locked with DAR, JC and possibly Price or
perhaps someone like Mo Williams. No reason to spend there.

    PG: DAR/JC/Williams/Price
    SG: Kobe/JC/DAR?/Young
    SF: Kobe/Young/Randle/Brown/may be even Nance
    PF: Randle/Nance/Black
    C: ????????/Black

So, they went exactly with what we all wanted, really, not inhibiting development of our young guys. We needed a Center and have no reason to lock SF,
because of Brown/Nance/KD (pick you reason).

Complaining about Ed might be valid, but we don't know the situation. Complaining about the likes of Biyombo is Marcus Banks 2.0

    I don't have a problem here.
